Stephen Shore

Stephen shore is a photographer who is known for his photography in America and his pioneering use of color. This photograph is called Natural bridge and shows a green American car parked on a street in front of another American car. This photo showcases Shores work very well with its prominent American culture and bright colors. I like this photo because I like his use of the color green and I also like vintage American cars of the sixties and seventies. The purpose of this photograph is that there are all these amazing cars but on the perspective of the onlooker on the other side it is perfect . But the person looking on this side sees the car in the shadows for what it really is with the bad scratch and missing paint. This can be said to be a metaphor for people hiding their dark side.

The genre is color and vernacular.

Alex Prager

Alex Prager is a filmmaker and photographer based in los Angeles , her work is said to be very film like and hyperrealist.(Sauce: Wikipedia) The picture shows a number of people seemingly waiting for a bus. I like this photo because it tells the story of the different people in the shot and you wonder about where they are going. The picture is very bright and colorful with a range of actors who convey their characters to provide a sense of density and range.

The purpose of this photograph is to convey the different stories of the different people waiting for the bus as it asks several questions such as are they waiting for the bus , what does the man have in the box and what is the woman in the blue dress doing.

The genre of this photo is color and narrative.
