We spent the night at several locations; as it often turns out, the last location—a warehouse basement—yielded the most

fruitful images. The cover image of James between the empty shelves turned out great; he simply walked into the aisle, turned, stood

and without a word I snapped this shot.

I captured something of the mature, unrelenting poet who’s never given up despite life’s impromptu dead ends and oddly placed pits of quicksand.
