BORDERS

• Borders are not allowed on any of your photos.

• EXCEPTION: If you have a 'natural' border created by photographing your square or rectangular item against a neutral-colored backdrop. This is often done with stamps or other paper items to call attention to flaws that may exist. In this instance, the visible edges of the background may give the appearance of a border.

Your watermark should be:

• Not bigger than 5% of the total image area

• Have an opacity of no more than 50%

Please Note:• Never obscure the item. • Links are not allowed in watermarks.

eBay offers a watermark creation service as part of the listing process. You'll find it in the "Bring your item to life with pictures" section of the listing form. Click on the "Add or remove options" link. Use this handy tool to ensure your watermarks are compliant.

BEST PRACTICES - LISTINGS THAT SELL

• Product Description: Talk about your product in detail. – If it requires assembly, setup when received what are the things to be done– Instruction for operating the product when needed– If it requires maintenance or care– Warranty information that could not be covered in item specifics

• Order of templates & elements: Speak about the item in as much detail as you can. This is the Hero of the listing page.

– Avoid starting with an Auctiva plugin– Avoid Giving too much prominence to your stores

• Fonts, text & HTML: You may opt to use a variety of font and HTML formatting but focus on easy readability of key product attributes.

– Do not use too many colors– Avoid italics– Do not use any Javascript on the page– Suggested fonts: Univers, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana– Make sure there’s enough contrast between the foreground and the background colors. A contrast ratio of 4.5:1 or higher is required. Use

the WebAIM color contrast checker.

BEST PRACTICES - LISTINGS THAT SELL

• Seller Tags: – Each category has a different set of “item specifics” which you can use to structurally define your product. In most categories there will be

a few mandated and a few optional tags. Try and use as many tags as possible as these are very useful in search filtering and any custom finding experiences. In most categories you will also have the ability to define tags and/or values incase they do not already exist.

• Catalogs:– Many categories like mobile phones have inbuilt catalogs which make it extremely simple for you to list and revise products on eBay.in.

These provide you quick starting points for your listings. For more details click here.

teams so as to default this data for listings.

• SEO: – For better visibility add original content with good editorial content. Do not do keyword spamming but provide as many details as possible.

Ensure key attributes are present on title. Do not use too many headings of various types. For further information click here.

• MORE TIPS:– Use the SUB TITLE for promoting unique attributes of your item for e.g. 3 Year Manufacturer Warranty, Free bag included etc.– Use Markdown Manager to show the discount for your items– Multi SKU - Create Multi SKU listings for products that have variations for e.g. SKUs for Clothing items– Use enlarge, zoom and super size features to ensure your items get apt visibility– If possible list with Flat rate shipping fee and free shipping is even better
