Phonic Flip Books

Phonic flip books are a way to show how different words can be made by changing

the initial sound.

They teach word families and the common pattern in associated words.

It is important that children know that there are words that have similar spellings.

This means that if they are struggling with one word, but know how to spell another

word with a similar sound, they can use that knowledge to try to spell the word they

wish to write.

This list of Phonic Flip Books does NOT cover all phonic patterns. There are many

which you may use, but if the pattern that you are teaching is NOT there, then copy

and paste one of them to create an editable template for you to create your own

book.
