Quality Education in a Stimulating Environment

Dear parents and carers Welcome back for another year of learning at Engadine West PS. Let me firstly introduce you to our new members of staff for 2018. Mr Jeremy Metliss, Assistant Principal. Mr Metliss won the Assistant Principal position on merit last year and

will be teaching 6M.

Mr Liam Herne, classroom teacher, teaching 6H.

Miss Naomi Irwin, classroom teacher, teaching KT. We warmly welcome these new members of staff to the Engadine West PS community. Welcome back to Mrs Nicole Gilmore who was relieving Principal at Waterfall PS for the majority of last year. Her return is warmly welcomed. Mrs Beech continues with her medical treatment and leave, but is reported to be progressing well. She asked me to express her thanks to the community for all the well wishes before Christmas. All classes were established on day one of the school term this year due to our student numbers being stable. We are expecting 100 Kindergarten students to start school tomorrow to form five classes for this year. The total classes K-6 is 28. Meet the Teacher

Meet the Teacher evenings will be held in Week 3. Days/dates are yet to be finalised, but will be publicised as soon as possible. Teachers value your attendance at these sessions, so they can meet you and share information with you about the year ahead for your child. Learning Labs

During the holidays a number of students attended Learning Labs at The University of Wollongong. Little and Early Learning Labs are academic enrichment programs catering to particular student interests. The following students attended the programs:

Uniform Shop News Pop Up Sale

Keep an eye out for ‘pop up’ uniform sales on the EWPS P&C Fundraising & Events facebook page. Good Quality Uniform Donations

We accept good quality donations. You may leave them by the uniform shop door or at the front office. Proceeds from sales go to the P&C. Year 2 Students

The canteen is in need of new volunteers. All training is provided. You will require a WWCC (Working With Children Check) and a sense of humour! A normal rostered day is from drop off until approximately 3.00pm once a month, however, if you are only available once a term or for a few hours in the morning or afternoon, please call into the canteen to see me.
