dar on the red bulletin board so that folks at West Side
might attend and boost you on in your activities.
Please also provide your latest school picture to go
along side the calendar.

Horse Sense
Titus 3:2 “Nor be Contentious”
(Weymouth)
A horse can’t pull while kicking,
This fact I merely mention.
And he cannot kick while pulling.
Which is my chief contention.
Let us imitate the good old
horse
And lead a life that’s fitting;
Just pull an honest load and then
There will be no time for kicking.

The Word of God
Feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving.
My warrant is the Word of God,
Naught else is worth believing.
I’ll trust in God’s unchanging Word till soul and
body sever:
For though all things shall pass away,
His word will last forever.
Unknown
Two Evil Feet When Jesus tied a towel around His waist and be-
gan to wash the twenty-four feet of His apostles,
two of those feet were not only dirty but belonged
to the betrayer of Jesus.
David had spoken years ago that this betrayal
would happen. David also wrote that the betrayers
should be blotted out of the book of life, (Psalm
69:28). Was the betrayal the first evil thought and
deed of which Judas was guilty?
When Judas complained about the expense of the
perfume that Mary poured on Jesus, John records
this about his character: “he was a thief: as keeper
of the money bag, he used to help himself to what
was put into it” (John 12:6). This points out his
gradual slide into sin.
Our conscience can allow us to decide that just a
little bit won’t hurt. The reward of 30 pieces of sil-
ver that Judas received is defined in Acts 1;18: “With
the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought
a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open
and all his intestines spilled out.” Peter quotes form
Psalms, “may his place be deserted, let there be no
one to dwell in it.” (Acts 1:20)
Jesus knew about Judas’ character when He washed
his feet. Would you have the humility to wash feet
that would do you great harm?

Are We Faithful?
We all understand that there are areas of life in which faithfulness is not an option—it is
an absolute requirement. It is essential. For example: marriage. Is there a woman any-
where who would marry a man who promised to be faithful sometimes or even most of the
time? Would that ever be good enough? Of course not! In the marriage relationship,
faithfulness is not recommended, it is required; it is not advisable, it is indispensable.
Likewise in the relationship between man and God. Faithfulness is required (1 Cor. 4:2,
Revelation 2:10)
So, with that in mind, let us each ask ourselves a few questions as we set about the all-
important task of self-examination (2 Cor. 13:5).
ARE WE FAITHFUL IN WORSHIP ATTENDANCE? We have heard or should
have, the admonition of Hebrews 10:25 to not forsake assembling together. We
need one another, we need to be together and we need, as Christ’s body, to assem-
ble as the church, to worship God (Ephesians 3:20-21). When God’s people
come together, are we there, you and I?
ARE WE FAITHFUL IN BIBLE STUDY? The blessed man delights in God’s
Word and meditates upon it day and night (Psalm 1:1-2). We are to study (2
Tim. 2:15), imitating the example of the Bereans in willingly searching the
scriptures daily (Acts 17:11).
ARE WE FAITHFUL IN PRAYER? We are told to pray without ceasing and in
everything give thanks (1 Thess. 5:17-18). Prayer is par t of our Chr istian ar -
mor (Ephesians 6:18) and certainly Jesus taught frequently and powerfully about
prayer (Matt. 6:5-13).
ARE WE FAITHFUL IN SOUL WINNING? We know the terms of the Great Com-
mission, to go into all the word, to all people with the good news of Jesus Christ
(Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16). The gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4) is the power of
God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). It is up to us to make sure people hear this
good news, by which faith comes (Romans 10:17).
ARE WE FAITHFUL IN GIVING? We are to lay by in store (give of our means)
upon the first day of the week (1 Cor. 16:1-2). We are to give bountifully as we
purpose in our heart-- and cheerfully (2 Cor. 9:6-7). Do we examine our giving I
in view of our blessings, our liberality in comparison to our abundance? Do we
give faith-fully?
