Judy! Judy!! Judy!!!Started a Judy Niemeyer quilt but haven’t finished? Tucked it away so you’ve forgotten the procedures? Timid about picking it up again? Then this is the class for you. Whether or not you have taken a Judy Niemeyer pattern class at JLC, you’re welcome to bring your unfinished project and let Cindy guide you to completion. Brush up on the techniques used in Judy’s quilts, and get comfortable again with the process. You may sign up for one or more of these sessions. Come once or every time.
Fridays: September 8, October 13,November 10, December 1, January 11 ........ .....................................................9:30a-4:00pDirector: ................................. This Techniques series provides an opportunity to learn paper piecing from the ground up! Whether you select the Glacier Star, Mariner’s Compass, Paradise in Blooms, or the new Vintage Rose, you will learn all the basics of Judy Niemeyer’s paper piecing process with the confidence at class end to tackle any of Judy’s spectacular quilt designs. These four patterns are taught exclusively by Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructors and are available through Certified Shops such as JanniLou Creations. Under the tutelage of Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor Shirley Scott, with the assistance of Cindy McEntee, you will create your very own quilt top.
By participating in this 7-session workshop with four pattern options, students have the advantage of seeing additional facets of paper piecing as well as those used in their own quilt. You come away with more knowledge to carry on to new projects. You decide whether to create a wall or queen sized quilt. Believe us!
These projects are more than doable!! You will be so proud of your accomplishments!

Adventures in Needleturn Appliqué
Needleturn appliqué has always been Sandra’s favorite technique. She’ll share examples of her stitching improvement, explain her Master Plan technique and demonstrate each fabric shape: how to stitch deep Vs that don’t fray, make sharp points, narrow stems and stitch those pesky inner curves so they lay smooth without ripples. Whether you are an advanced appliquér or a beginner, Sandra assumes each student is new to appliqué and starts with the basics. After successfully teaching well over 1000+ students, she knows how to correct your techniques and make Needleturn appliqué a relaxing pursuit.

announced at a later date.
Original Binding BasicsWe’ve all been there – we’ve created a beautiful quilt top, gotten it nicely quilted, and then been frustrated that the binding just doesn’t lay right, or the corners are, well, more like lumps than corners. If you’ve ever been frustrated by binding that just doesn’t look like you wanted it to, this class is for you! Cathy will lead you through creating a neat, even binding that doesn’t pull or ripple. We’ll start with preparing your quilt, cover choosing and making straight and bias bindings, and practice joining ends and turning corners. You will leave class with skills to create beautiful bindings that will enhance your quilts.

Machine Quilting IEncore after encore! This class offered at least once each term provides the basics for machine quilting. You create a lovely wholecloth sampler wallhanging in this marathon machine quilting class. This is an extremely intense, information-filled class! You will work very hard as you absorb new techniques, become more familiar and comfortable with your machine as well as your project, and gain a new respect for your darning foot and walking foot*. By the end of the day, although you will be pooped, you will be much more confident in the machine quilting realm — and have quite a lovely project to show off!
Saturday: October 7 ....................9:30a-4:00pDirector: .................................................. PamAdmission: ................................................ $35Rating: ..........................................................GNOTE: You MUST come in to pre-mark your quilt top PRIOR to class. Your project needs to be basted prior to class as well. A limited number of pre-marked kits are available for $45. You must reserve these. *It is IMPERATIVE that you know PRIOR to class that your walking foot and darning foot work properly with your machine. Thanks!

Fun with Lucy BostonJoin Sandra in the latest national craze and discover how Lucy Boston used a simple elongated hexagon and fussy cut her way to creating amazing quilts. Learn what to look for in fabric designs that become stunning blocks: we’ll study the store’s fabric. Then see how a quick rotation or location change of the patches morphs it into an entirely new design – all using a single patch shape – and sewn together with a simple running stitch. This class is for beginners and experienced alike who love fabrics and want to expand their fabric selection knowledge yet desire simple assembly. This block is great for travel or a short visit to the doctors, and addictive. The Lucy Boston blocks are like eating pop-corn, you can’t eat just one kernel or cut and piece just one block.

JanniLou Creations’ Class Policy We’ve provided a lot of flexibility in the classes offered each term. In all cases, it’s to your advantage to commit to an entire class offering, but we understand all too well about busy schedules, so we try to include some “serial” offerings, too! We encourage early registration as space is limited in our class areas.
Our instructors have a strong commitment to making your class experiences positive learning and fun times. If a minimum number of students do not register, a class may be postponed or cancelled. Shop credit will be given. We basically have a no-cancel policy for most instruction.
At the same time, we ask a commitment from you. Please be prompt for class; times are posted
with the idea that the instructor can begin on time. It’s unfair to the instructor and to students who are prompt to be kept waiting. If your class begins at 9:30a, the Shop doors are open as early as 9:00a so you can set up.
Although verbal commitments are fine, payment must be made to secure your spot in class, and for you to receive supplies lists. We then give you the responsibility for having everything you need for a successful class adventure. You are automatically enrolled upon receipt of class fee (admission) unless notified otherwise.
If you are unable to attend a class, we are happy to issue a Shop credit IF we are notified at least FIVE DAYS PRIOR to Class. It’s important for the
instructors to have your commitment so they can be prepared for you and to insure sufficient training materials. To avoid forfeiture of your registration fee if the FIVE days’ notice cannot be met, you are welcome to send a friend as an ‘understudy.’ Bring basic sewing supplies: pins, needles, pencil (or pen), paper, thread, scissors, ruler, seam ripper — and filled bobbins. But please note: No children, babies, or guests in adult classes. Cell phones must be turned off! And please, do not wear fragrances to class. Many folks are very sensitive to fragrances.
Thanks for your cooperation and assistance in our serving you! – Lou & Crew
