6 Getstarted

6.1 Chargeyourheadset

Beforeyouuseyourheadsetforthefirsttime,chargethebatteryfor6hoursforoptimumbatterycapacityandlifetime.

WarningUseonlytheoriginalUSBcableorastandardaftermarketmicroUSBcableforcharging.Usinganotherchargermaydamageordestroyyourheadset.

CautionFinishyourcallbeforechargingtheheadset,asconnectingtheheadsetforchargingwillcutanongoingcall.Duringchargingyoucanoperatetheheadsetnormally.

PlugtheUSBcableintoapoweredUSBportonyourPCorintoapoweradapterwithUSBoutletandconnectthecabletotheheadsetschargingsocket.

DuringrechargingtheLEDindicatorwillshowaredlight.TheLEDwillturnoffoncechargingiscomplete.IfyoutrytochargetheheadsetwhenitisfulltheLEDwillnotlightup.

Typicallyafullchargewilltake2hours,duringthistimeyoucanuseyourheadsetforcallsandmusic.

6.2 PairyourPhilipsTapsterBluetoothstereoheadsetwithyourmobilephone

YourPhilipsTapsterBluetoothstereoheadsetmustbepairedtoyourmobilephonebeforeconnectingandusingitforthefirsttimewithyourphone.“Pairing”willestablishauniqueencryptedlinkbetweenyourmobilephoneandyourheadset.

Pairinghastobedoneonlyonce,beforeusingyourheadsetwithyourmobilephoneoranotherBluetoothdevicefortheveryfirsttime.• Onlyifyoupairmorethantwodifferent

Bluetoothdeviceswithyourheadset,youmayneedtopairthepreviouslypaireddevicesagain.Yourheadsetcanstoreuptotwopaireddevicesinitsmemory,ifyoupairmorethantwodevicestheoldestpaireddeviceisoverwritten.

1 MakesureyourheadsetischargedandturnedOff.

� MakesureyourmobilephoneisonanditsBluetoothfeatureisenabled.

� PressOn/Off ontherightearpieceuntiltheLEDstartsblinkingredandbluealternately.Theheadsetwillnowremainin“pairingmode”for5minutes.

� Pairtheheadsetwithyourmobilephoneasdescribedbelow.Asamplepairingisshownbelow.

Checkyourphone’susermanualforspecificdetails.

• AccesstheBluetoothmenuonyourmobilephonetypicallycalled“Setup”,“Settings”,“Bluetooth”or“Connectivity”.

• Selecttheoptiontodiscover,addorsearchforaBluetoothdevice.Afterafewsecondsyourphoneshouldindicatethatithasfoundthe“PhilipsTapster”.

• Uponselectingthe“PhilipsTapster”onyourmobilephonetypicallyyouwillneedtoconfirmthepairingandenterapasscode.Pleaseentertheheadsetspasscode“0000”(fourzeros).

Aftersuccessfulpairing,theheadsetwillconnecttothemobilephone.YouwillhearalongbeeptoconfirmsuccessfulpairingandtheheadsetsLEDwillchangefromflashingred/bluetoperiodicallyflashingblueeverythreeseconds.

TurnontheheadsetbypressingOn/Off untiltheLEDlightsup.Onceturnedontheheadsetwillreconnectautomaticallytothelastdeviceitwasconnectedto.Ifthelastconnecteddeviceisnotavailabletheheadsettriestoreconnecttothesecondtolastdevicethatwasconnectedtotheheadset.

IfyouturnthemobilephoneoritsBluetoothfeatureonafterturningontheheadsetconnecttheheadsetfromyourmobilephonesBluetoothmenu.

7.2 Automaticpowersaving
