Free-floating de-coupled microphone

The microphone in the new SpeechMike Premium isdecoupled from its housing for the most incrediblecrystal clear recording performance ever to bedelivered by a desktop dictation device. Thecompletely redesigned microphone suspensionguarantees that almost no background, touch,click, air or structure-borne noise is recorded.This technique is derived from studio microphonesto make sure there are no sound distortionswhatsoever and to guarantee outstanding speechrecognition results.

Metal microphone grille with optimizedstructure

A well-engineered microphone grille is able to makea high-end microphone as in the new SpeechMikePremium stand out even more. The hexagonal

holes used for the metal grille feature three timesmore open surface than its predecessor, engineeredto provide crystal clear recordings.

Integrated pop filter

The microphone area of the SpeechMike Premiumis made of many different layers to make itsound as clear and original as possible. One ofthose is a fleece inserted above and below themicrophone capsule. The fleece filters out sounddistortions such as pop and hiss noise, guaranteeingperfect results even if dictating closely into themicrophone.

Optimized control panel with tactilebuttons and ergonomic zones design

Philips is the creator of the ergonomic zonesdesign. SpeechMike Premium has been tested andproven by users to have the most comfortable fit inthe human hand. The dictation zone is optimized tokeep thumb movement to a minimum. The buttonsneeded for the actual dictation functions are placedcentrally, in the area most convenient for thethumb, guaranteeing perfect ergonomics and non-fatiguing usage for the user. Less frequently neededfunction buttons are clearly arranged above andbelow. All buttons used are formed to give as muchtactile feedback as possible.

Ergonomically shaped rear housing withcommand key

As the rear of a dictation microphone is as

important as the front, Philips put an emphasison shaping it in a way so that it perfectly fits thehuman hand and reduces unintentional use ofbuttons. The trigger and the command buttonon the rear housing are engineered to be exactlywhere they need to be. There has never been adesktop dictation device that is as ergonomic as theSpeechMike Premium.

The housing of the SpeechMike Premium is madeof high-class polymers. It is endued with a polishedsurface and the material includes a pearl metaladditive providing a high quality metallic effectand making it non-sensitive to touch noises andfingerprints.

Up to 60 cm / 23 inches barcodescanning

Link client or patient data to a recorded file simplyby scanning a bar code (SpeechMike Premiumbarcode devices only). The scanned informationis automatically attached to the dictation file,streamlining the documentation process. Allidentifying information is entered accurately,increasing security and potential for cost savings.With the SpeechMike Premium, its possible to scanbarcodes from up to 60 cm / 23 inches distance,twice the distance compared to its predecessor.

Antimicrobial housing and buttons

The SpeechMike Premiums housing and buttons aremade of antimicrobial synthetics, guarding it againstall kinds of germs. Antimicrobial materials workagainst a wide range of different microorganisms

such as bacteria (e.g. pneumococcal bacilli andmultiresistant microorganisms such as MRSA),viruses (e.g. HIV, influenza, etc.), fungi (e.g.Aspergillus niger), or algae. The antimicrobial effecton the SpeechMike Premium lasts for at least fiveyears.

Integrated motion sensor

Being on the cutting edge of technology, the PhilipsSpeechMike Premium comes with an integratedmotion sensor, making it the first stationarydictation device that can be controlled by themovement of your hand. The SpeechMike Premium includes a built-in high-precision stainless steel trackball. Self lubricatedand abrasive resistant Teflon bearings guaranteea smooth operation over the entire lifetime. On top of that, the trackball caneven be taken out of the device for cleaning, if thisshould ever be required.

Drag and drop enabled clickabletrackball
