Philippe Lamberts Biography: Philippe Lamberts was born in 1963 in Brussels, Belgium. He is now married and has 4 children. He studied Engineering in applied mathematics, at the Catholic University of Louvain. From 1987 to 2009, he worked in various commercial functions at IBM. His political career within the Belgian green party (Ecolo) started in 1991 when he became a member of the local Council of Anderlecht (Brussels). He held this function until 2003. During this term, and more specifically, between 1999-2003 he was also an advisor in the cabinet of Isabelle Durant (at the time Minister of Transports) on international relations and security. Since 1999, Philippe Lamberts has also been involved in politics at the European level. Indeed, from 1999 until 2002 he was an Ecolo representative to the European Federation of Green Parties. In 2002, he became a member of the executive committee of this Federation, which was transformed into the European Green Party (EGP). In 2006, he became co-president of the European Green Party - with Ulrike Lunacek from Austria. In 2009, he started his second term at the head of the EGP (until 2011) with Monica Frassoni from Italy. Philippe Lamberts is currently in the second year of his first term as a Member of the European Parliament (2009-2014), in the Greens/EFA Group. Biography:

Philippe Lamberts was born in 1963 in Brussels, Belgium. He is now married and has

Philippe Lamberts est député européen belge, membre du groupe des Verts. Ingénieur de formation, il a travaillé dans une grande multinationale pendant 20 ans, tout en s'engageant chez les Verts belges et européens. Il est actuellement co-président du Parti Vert Européen. Au Parlement Européen, il joue un rôle actif et critique au sein de la commission des Affaires Economiques et Monétaires (ECON), où il suit en particulier les questions de gouvernance économique et de fiscalité. Il est également membre de la commission ITRE dans laquelle il se concentre sur la politique industrielle, ainsi que la recherche et l'innovation.
