SAVE President’s Message

Dear Summit Colleagues,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Philadelphia and the 56th Annual Value Summit!

2017 marks the 70th anniversary of the creation of Value Analysis by Lawrence D. Miles at the General Electric Company – seven decades of improving performance and cost across the globe. This is a year of celebration by value societies worldwide. We promote, advocate, certify, and educate leaders in industry and government in the benefits and applications of this methodology; and we drive innovation daily.

These few days together offer you opportunities to learn about the Value Methodology; expand your skills in this practice that is all about function-inspired change; meet new people, reconnect with old friends, and forge relationships for the future. Take advantage of this occasion to broaden your perspective!

The SAVE Board of Directors is delighted to welcome the leadership from each of our Affiliate Societies - Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Hungary, and China. These dedicated professionals have travelled long distances to participate and convey how the Value Methodology inspires leadership internationally.

So many of our participants are also first-time Value Summit participants. We hope that you will be inspired by what you learn; and will take these ideas back to your own organizations to create or grow a value program.

And, finally, every two years SAVE’s leadership transitions with the swearing in of a new president. We congratulate Katherine Fisher Bethany as she becomes SAVE International’s president on Sunday afternoon at the Annual Business Meeting. Please convey your best wishes to Kathy as she undertakes this important position for our profession.

Happy conferencing to all of you!

Sincerely yours,

Mary Ann W. Lewis, FSAVEPresident
