PHI THETA KAPPA: ALPHA BETA PSI January 2016 PHI THETA KAPPA: ALPHA BETA PSI “AND THAT’S HOW IT’S DONE…A SUCCESSFUL OFFICER TEAM” – CALEB GRISHAM IN THIS ISSUE What is Phi Theta Kappa? A Personal Approach by Angi Diehl Angi Diehl current PR Secretary/Historian at the freshmen orientation, spreading the good word of Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa is a prestigious national honor society for 2 year colleges. Ok, so that’s the official outlook of it. PTK is so much more. From a personal point of view I have gained many friends and great opportunities since being in PTK. All I needed to become a member was 12 credit hours, a 3.5 GPA and of course pay the dues. The great thing is once you pay your dues you are a member for life. The first semester I was a member that sat back and could just say I was a member. Now I am an officer and am loving it! I enjoy interacting with my fellow officers and taking the opportunities to help inform others about PTK and what it can do for you! It looks great on scholarship applications, looks great on your resume’ and it’s just fun to participate in! We would love to have your input and help as we go into the next semester! If you have any questions or concerns please contact our wonderful advisors-Mrs. Nannette Crane- Post or Mr. Caleb Grisham. Also, the officers would be glad to assist you any way we can. Cristian Navarrete, Alex Ditto, Phoenix Popow, James Byrd, and myself. If we don’t know the answer we will find out! We would love to see more participation this semester. We will be posting meeting times and place on our Facebook page (if you are not a member of our FB page send us a request). We have lots of exciting things coming up!! Be a part of it!!
