The Real Answer

• The phases of the moon are caused by the relative position of the Earth – Moon – and Sun.

• The lit section is caused by sunlight reflecting off the moons surface.– Except for a Lunar Eclipse, 50% of the moons

surface is always in daylight!

• The dark section is the “night” side of the moon.

• A lunar day lasts 2 weeks – and a lunar night, 2 weeks.

People have been trying to figure this out ever since they admitted the sun was in the center of the Solar System
