The new enhancements offered by the latest firmware along with a brief description are provided below. For your easy reference, we have divided the enhancements into the following categories:

A. Open API

Page 9: Phase3.0 Enhanced Functions and Upgrade Procedures

9

B. Copy C. Fax D. Print E. Other

A. Open API Version 1.0 Konica Minolta is pleased to announce that this latest firmware level offers Open API (Version 1.0) support. In an effort to strengthen and build upon our infrastructure so that we can provide you with the level of support you will require to meet the needs of your customers, we are launching Open API Version 1.0 with a limited number of solutions. These solutions include the following:

Open API Solutions Planned Launch Date DocuBreeze Winter 2006 Captaris RightFax Connector November 1, 2006 Rebus Recollect Winter 2006-2007

As each of the above third-party solutions is launched, you will receive more details on the Open API architecture and respective requirements. Open API Version 2.0 is targeted for release in Fiscal Year 2007 and will offer expanded integration with third party solutions. More information will follow as we approach the release date. B. Copy Mode

Quick Copy User Interface

The LCD Panel can be changed to offer the end-user Copier-centric selections at their fingertips. As an alternative to selecting the desired settings via sub-menus, an increased number of copier-related keys appear on the LCD. This will enable the user to make their copier selections more efficiently.

This change can be made by the System Administrator via the Utility/Counter Key (Utility/Counter->User Setting->Display Setting->Copy Basic Screen->Type 2).

2. Program Job (Job Build)

Pages of a copy original can be scanned with different input settings (1-sided, 2-sided, zoom ratio, bind position, erase) and output settings (simplex, duplex, corner or 2-position stapling, 2/3-hole punch, date, stamp functions) and then be printed as one job.

3. Separate Scan Settings (Batch or Page Print)

Enables users to select whether they want their separate scan jobs to print after each set of scanned pages have been scanned or to wait until the entire separate scan job is completed to print out the scanned job. (Separate scan is used when the number of originals exceeds the capacity of the document feeder.)

Page 10: Phase3.0 Enhanced Functions and Upgrade Procedures

10

C. Fax

Internet Fax Internet Faxing enables the sending device to transmit hard copy documents over the Internet and have them received as hard copy documents. The original transmitted document as well as the received document are in the same “form” as documents transmitted over traditional phone lines, however, since they are sent over the Internet, no phone charges are incurred.

Internet Faxing achieves a dramatic reduction in communication costs especially in those situations when lengthy faxes are frequently transmitted over seas or to long distance locations. The cost of the fax is covered entirely by the fixed Internet connection fee.

Both the sending and receiving fax devices must support Internet Faxing. The bizhub C450, C352, C351, C300 and C250 support the T.37 protocol and therefore can only communicate with other devices that support T.37 Internet Fax protocol. The T.37 Internet Fax Protocol remains the most popular and prevalent Internet protocol on the market. An Email server is required to support Internet Faxing and the device must be assigned an Email address in order to perform Internet Faxing.

Internet Faxing is standard with this firmware upgrade. You do not need the optional Fax Kit to perform Internet Faxing functions.

IP Address Fax

The IP Address Fax function allows you to transmit data over an office intranet instead of the telephone line used by conventional faxes. Taking advantage of an established LAN/WAN infrastructure, IP Address Fax eliminates costly connection and transmission fees. IP Address Fax does not require a dedicated server or use the office mail server. You simply send from one fax to another in your office by using the IP Address of the device (instead of dialing the fax number of the device).

The optional Fax Kit is required in order to access the IP Address Fax Function.

3. Program up to 20 Headers

These bizhub devices offer the ability to program up to 20 different fax headers. This feature is useful for environments that want to designate the sender by department or individual name. It is also useful for small businesses (i.e. Doctors, Lawyers, etc.) that share office space and equipment. It provides the user with the means to select their desired header information.

D. Print

1. IC-402 Fiery Image Controller Version 2.0 for C450/C351 It is highly recommended that you update your bizhub C450 or bizhub C351 to this latest firmware version if you are or will be connecting the device to a IC-402 Fiery Controller to ensure optimum performance.

2. IC-406 Fiery Image Controller for C352/C300

When the C352 and C300 are equipped with firmware level 33, these devices support all enhancements

introduced since July 2006 in addition to supporting the IC-406 Fiery Print Controller.

As a reminder, the C352P (printer only version) does not support the IC-406 Fiery Controller.

E. Other
