• Treatment is completed in a single day (2 treatments 12 hours apart)

• Cefa-Lak® is a first generation cephalosporin and of less concern to Health Canada with regard to antimicrobial resistance issues in human medicine than third-generation cephalosporins

• Dosage: Infuse a 10 mL syringe (200 mg of cephapirin activity per syringe) once the quarter has been completely milked out. Repeat only once in 12 hours

• Milk withdrawal: 96 hours after last treatment

• Slaughter withdrawal: 4 days after the last treatment

• Cefa-Dri® has prolonged antibiotic activity due to the low solubility of cephapirin benzathine and the slow release gel base

• Dosage: Infuse a 10 mL syringe (300 mg of cephapirin activity per syringe) in each quarter once after quarter has been completely milked out

• Milk withdrawal: Milk must not be used for food for the first 84 hours after calving. Use no later than 30 days prior to calving

• Labelled for intramammary infusion in dry cows only at the time of drying off. Use no later than 30 days prior to calving

• Takes advantage of the Opti-Sert® tip which aids in partial insertion

• Dosage: Infuse a 10 mL syringe (500 mg of cloxacillin activity per syringe) in each quarter once, after quarter has been completely milked out

• Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 30 days after the latest treatment with this drug

• Milk taken from treated cows which calve within 30 days of infusion must not be used as food until the unexpired remainder of the 30 days has elapsed

• Milk taken from treated animals during treatment and within 48 hours after the latest treatment must not be used as food

• Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least six (6) days (CATTLE) after the latest treatment with this drug
