Dear Mr. Kamal Baheti, The Centre for African Studies at the University of Mumbai is a leading Area Studies Centre on Africa for the last four decades. The Centre’s main objective is to promote African Studies as an academic discipline with a holistic understanding of Africa with its social, cultural, economic and strategic specificities and to provide critical inputs to the policy makers; particularly in India’s economic, strategic and political interest and to contribute towards Indian perspective of the region and issues. We have tried to move beyond academics and tried to reach the corporate and industries interested in spreading business to Africa. We have closely interacted with members of corporate and industry and others, these interactions were mutually enriching experience for us. The Centre has launched a dedicated Certificate Course in International Trade (Africa) from the academic year 2012-13. We are also going to successfully complete third batch. We have attached brochure of the course. We have also attached the Centre’s profile. We are looking forward to long term association in enriching our relationship with your esteemed institution.
