City Council Members discussed the idea of opening a city run charter school in Digital Do-

main’s former Tradition Studios if a buyer isn’t secured soon.

TNT Fitness and Crossfit opened in Saint Lucie West.

Port St. Lucie city officials announced Tuesday that Bass Pro Shops, a national retailer for

outdoor sports, has started the approval process to open the vacant 100,000-square-foot

Kohl's building on Gatlin Boulevard, in a potential boon to the area's retail shoppers. Nego-

tiations for the Port St. Lucie site are not complete, but both sides are working through the

process. Open by July

The Jensen Beach Inn opened in downtown Jensen Beach. The boutique hotel offers seven

decorated rooms themed in Florida’s wildlife.

In a recent survey of residents, the most requested amenity was a dog park. The recrea-tion area dedicated at turnover by Kolter located at the West Gate is our best choice. This parcel of about two acres would accommodate a fenced space in a natural setting for large and small dogs.

Amenities include: grass, fencing, water, parking, covered garbage cans, benches, and shade. It is a place where residents and dogs of PGA Village can socialize. Realtors feel dog parks are a positive selling feature in a Community. It would be an asset to PGA Vil-lage. Other communities like ours already have them such as Verano and Tradition.

A proposal for the Dog Park was presented to the Master Board on March 11, 2013. The estimated cost was about $27,000. This will include; fencing and gates, access pad, signs, benches, water line to park, bags and receptacles, parking, drainage pipe in park-ing area and permits. The Master Board requested a survey to assess the community's interest in a dog park. It is most important that we hear from you the owners.

The Master Board will vote on the motion for a dog park at the April 8 meeting. Your re-sponses to the following survey will provide the Master Board with the information it needs to cast their vote.
