Admission Process

Process of Admission to Post Graduate Diploma Courses of C-DAC List of C-DACs PG Diploma Courses, Fees and Eligibility Criteria

C-DACs Common Admission Test (C-CAT)

From the 2012-13 academic year, admissions to all PG Diploma courses of C-DAC are done through C-DAC's Common Admission Test (C-CAT). Candidates have to apply for C-CAT online at www.cdac.in.Every year, C-CAT is usually conducted in June (for August admissions) and December (for Februaryadmissions). Candidates who clear December 2012 C -CAT will be considered for admission to C-DAC's PGDiploma courses of February 2013 batch on the basis of their C-CAT ranks and centre/course preferences.

5.1 C-CAT Test Papers

C-CAT has three sections (Section A, Section B, Section C) of one hour duration each. As shownin Table 2, depending on the course(s) applied by the candidate, he/she will have to either appear for justone test paper (Section A) or two test papers (Section A and Section B) or all the three test papers (SectionA, Section B and Section C). Table 3 indicates the syllabus of the different sections of test papers in C-C AT.The medium for a ll the test papers will be English.

Important Note: A candidate can appear only for the specific section(s) in C-CAT as per the course(s)opted by him/her at the time of filling the online application form.

Every section will have 50 objective-type questions of 3 marks each (maximum 150 marks for any onesection). Each objective-type question in C-CAT will have four choices as possible answers of which only onewill be correct. There will be +3 (plus three) marks for each correct answer and -1 (minus one) for eachwrong answer. Multiple answers to a question will be treated as a wrong answer. For each un-attemptedquestion, 0 (zero) mark will be awarded.

3 C-CAT Schedule

The C-CAT for admission to the February 2013 batch of PG Diploma courses will be held on 2ndDecember 2012 and 16th December 2012. Candidates may choose one of these dates as per theirconvenience while filling the online application. The schedule for different test papers of C -CAT is given inTable 4.

C-CAT December 2012 will be conducted manually (using pen and OMR sheets) in various citiesall across India. The list of cities where C-CAT will be conducted in December 2012 is given in Table 5.TheC-C AT centres will be allocated to candidates on a first-come, first-served basis of application, depending onthe centres' seating capacity.
