ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY
All environmental data is baseline adjusted in accordance with the WRI Protocol for reporting GHGs.
1Industry Average = Pharmaceutical Safety Group benchmark.NOTES
Data scope is directed by Pfizers EHS Standards and includes all sites within Pfizers operational control. Environmental data from Pfi zers former Animal Health business is excluded in 2013.

GRAPH 1TOTAL INJURY & ILLNESS RATE
(Recordable cases per 200,000 hours worked)
0.53
10%
30%1Pzers global injury rate, which is based on OSHA recordingcriteria, has been below the peer industry average for the pastfour years. Total injury rate in 2013 was 10% lower than in2012. Sadly, two Pzer colleague fatalities occurred in 2013.
GRAPH 2

13%
Injuries involving 1 or more days away from work. The increase in
2013 was observed in manufacturing operations.
GRAPH 3TOTAL GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS (GHG)
(Million Metric Tons CO2eq)
1.67
7%
20%Pzer has achieved an approximate 7% absolute reduction inGHG emissions in 2013 compared to 2012. In 2013 Pzer set its3rdgeneration public goal which aims to reduce GHG by 20% by2020 when compared with a 2012 baseline.

16%
Our total water withdrawal in 2013 was 4% lower than in 2012.In 2013 Pzer set a public goal to reduce water withdrawal
excluding non-contact cooling water (water withdrawn fromand returned to the same source) by 5% by 2020 whencompared with a 2012 baseline. Pzer will continue tooptimize performance.
GRAPH 5TOTAL HAZARDOUS WASTE GENERATED
(Million Kilograms)
116.4
12%
1%In 2013 Pzer established a public goal to reduce hazardousand non-hazardous waste disposal 15% by 2020 compared to a2012 baseline. We made signicant progress toward this goal in2013, reducing total waste disposal by 10%.
TOTAL RECYCLED (Million Kilograms) 27.5 13% 24% Hazardous waste generation decreased compared to 2012largely due to reductions in solvent waste from manufacturingoperations. 24% of Pzers hazardous waste was recycled, this isthe same as the recycling rate in 2012.
TOTAL DISPOSED (Million Kilograms) 88.9 11% 9%
GRAPH 6TOTAL NON-HAZARDOUS WASTE
GENERATED (Million Kilograms)
37.9
3%
14%Non-hazardous waste generation decreased slightly comparedto 2012 due to consolidation of operations. 62% of Pzersnon-hazardous waste was recycled in 2013, as compared to64% in 2012.
TOTAL RECYCLED (Million Kilograms) 23.4 6% 7%
TOTAL DISPOSED (Million Kilograms) 14.5 2% 23%

NA
Pzers Fleet Safety Program has launched in 32 countries andcovers approximately 90% of our eet. Recorded collision ratedecreased 2% compared to 2012.
GRAPH 8SUPPLIER EHS ASSESSMENTS
(Count of assessments at supplier facilities)90

34%Without lessening risk tolerance, a risk priority ranking tool wasused in 2012 and 2013 resulting in fewer onsite assessmentsthan previous years. Where necessary we worked closely withsuppliers to provide guidance on Pzers EHS performanceexpectations.
VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND (VOC)
EMISSIONS (Thousand kg)1,180 6% 70% Increases in production at key manufacturing facilities resulted
in an increase in VOC emissions. Emissions represent a very smallpercentage of total VOC use (95% of Pzer colleagues, therefore the actual change20102013 may be lower than reported.
