Each year in the yearbook we print baby pictures of our fifth graders. Each student can submit one photo for the book. Please make sure it is a printed picture (not a color copy) and it must be printed on photo paper or on a CD. Please write your child’s name and teacher’s name on the back of the photo so they can
be returned. The photos will not be returned until
April or May. The deadline for submission is tomorrow, December 16th.

Vote on the
2012 – 2013 School Calendar
You are invited to participate in Humble
ISD’s survey regarding the 2012-2013 school calendar. The survey and two draft calendars
have been posted to www.humbleisd.net
The draft calendars were developed based upon the following criteria:
• State law stipulates school may not begin before Monday, Aug. 27.
• The district provides 177 days of instruction for students. Teachers work a 187-day contract.
• The community has expressed in previous surveys a long-standing preference for ending the first semester at Winter Break.
• Low attendance days directly affect state funding received by Humble ISD. The Thanksgiving holidays are a full week because student attendance drops significantly when school is open only Monday and Tuesday.
Survey results will be tallied and comments considered. The Board of Trustees will approve a calendar for the 2012-2013 school year in the spring semester.

Teacher Wishlists
This holiday season, bring cheer to your child's classroom by granting a teacher's wish. Our teachers have created wishlists of items they would like for your child's classroom. Please go to http://www.humbleisdfoundation.org/wishlist.asp to see our teachers' wishlists. Thank you for supporting our school!
