BARRY Barry is such a friendly and sweet little guy. He was born at the shelter last July and he has waited his whole young life for a home of his own. He sits on his little perch and always greets you wanting at-tention, wondering if you'll be his person. He is playful and cuddly, and he's neutered, micro-chipped and current on all his shots.
DRAKE Drake is a handsome little one-year old Beagle man. He is friendly and outgoing with people, but would probably like to be the only pet in the home. Drake is a good dog and he does great with kids over about 12 years old. He'll make a great companion for a family look-ing for just one pup, and he also looks pretty darned dapper in his bandanna! Drake is neutered, micro-chipped, heart worm tested and cur-rent on all his shots.
Former Midland graduate, Carl Dunn, a resident of Houston, Tex-as and a NASA employee invites everyone to join him for a virtual campout on Friday, May 22nd. Grab your camping gear and head to the back yard because the night sky is calling! As we stay safe at home, we can continue to learn about space exploration as we make memories together. Space Center Houston will be hosting a Virtual Camp-Out
on Friday, May 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CST. Along with exciting hands-on activities and an extraordinary guest speaker, this event will honor Gold Star Fami-lies, active and veteran military service members while celebrating Military Appreciation Month. The activities for the evening will be using household materi-als to bring science to life while learning about space exploration!
Carl Dunn Invites Everyone To A Space Center Virtual CampoutWe will begin our night building our own glider as we learn about one of the most famous gliders, the Space Shuttle. Next, we will design our own space exploration capsule while learning about real life space artifacts. Then we will end our eve-ning with our planetarium show, where we will take a virtual tour of our Solar System. The Virtual Camp-Out will be for guests who would like to expe-rience the Space Center Houston Camp-In program but are unable to do so due to the center’s closing. If you are interested in attending this extraordinary virtual event, please register at: https://spacecenter.org/virtual-campout/ to be redirected to the Virtual Camp-Out webpage. We hope to see you under the stars!
Holy Communion was distrib-uted to members of St. John XXIII Church in Henry on Sunday, May 17 by their pastor, Father John Bosco Mujuni. Parish members drove to the entrance of the parish center, 1301 Second Street, then entered and departed the building separately with masks in place and keeping social distancing. Father John Bosco is shown inside the entrance of the parish center as he prepared to offer Holy Communion to parish members. He said that next weekend Mass
