Objective• Our objective is to teach
you about PETA, and how they protect animal rights.
• PETA is an international non-profit charitable organization based in Norfolk, Virginia.
• Founded in 1980• Dedicated to protecting and defending the rights of
animals• Responsible for closing the largest horse slaughter
operation in the US• “PETA has done more to lessen animal suffering than
nearly any other organization!”
-Philadelphia Daily News
PETA uses models as their spokespeople as a way to make vegetarianism look more attractive, and also to get publicity!

• The following slides are just some ways that PETA voices its opinions using comic strips, celebrities and pictures!
"Every time I dress I know I'm not wearing leather, and that's a great
feeling."
"I've always felt that animals are the purest spirits in the world. They don't fake or hide their feelings, and they
are the most loyal creatures on Earth. And somehow we humans think we're smarter—what a joke."
(Chicago Sun Times)

• Many organizations oppose what PETA and other animal rights groups do! Some many go as far as to print ads making PETA seem guilty for something they don’t believe. The following slides are just some of the ways that PETA is being protested against!
Ingrid Newkirk isn’t just the President of PETA, she’s also a militant activist. She’s soaked herself in fake blood, of course, but she’s also been arrested more than 20 times. And she’s an avowed supporter of the terrorist Animal Liberation Front.
