• Unlike hydraulic systems, servo clamp is energy efficient since it consumes power on demand, only during closing and opening.

• Scientifically designed reflectors ensure that radiated energy passing around the preforms is reflected back onto the preforms, increasing the efficiency of the oven.

• In keeping with the hygiene standards required by the Food and Beverage Industry, our machines operate only with servo and pneumatics. No hydraulics, so no oil spills. Ideally suited for clean room conditions.

• The entire process from loading the preforms into the conveyor hopper to final exit of the blown bottle into the filling machine via an air conveyor is fully automated and untouched by hand. No human intervention needed.

• Accurate and repeatable operations

• Recovery of the blown air reduces consumption and eliminates the need of a separate low pressure compressor, thereby saving both initial cost and energy.

Electropneumatics’ blow moulding machines are available in two series- the U-Series and the D-Series. In the U-Series, the preforms are heated in the neck down position, and stretching and blowing takes place in the upward direction. The D-Series, in line with the latest European trends, brings to you a whole new concept of speed and efficiency. To get the most heating efficiency, the preforms mounted on carrier mandrels are made to move through the oven at a smaller pitch and close to the heaters so that the heating zones have minimum overlap thus ensuring that heat is concentrated exactly where needed. Preforms are heated in the neck down position to prevent distortion of the neck and are then rotated through 180 degrees and placed between the mould halves in the neck up position. The stretching and blowing are thus done downwards in line with the gravitational force, ensuring perfect centering and distribution of material.

Preform FeedingPreforms stored in a hopper are carried upwards by an elevator, aligned by a pair of rollers and slide down by gravity into the machine in single file. They are then distributed by an ingenious mechanism to suit the pitch of the mandrels on which they are gently placed by means of special grippers, and then moved along through the heating oven.

Preform HeatingThe heating oven is designed for maximum efficiency to keep the cost of electricity low. PET preforms are heated by energy radiated by special quartz infra lamps. Selective ceramic coating of the lamps ensures that radiation is focussed only on specific preform areas to save energy and ensure required wall thickness of the blown container. All preforms are heated in the neck down position. Specially designed rails with provision for passing chilled water make sure that even the thin walled necks used in today’s lightweight bottles are free from distortion.

Servo ClampingThe clamp unit forms the heart of the machine. The strong clamp unit mounted on a sturdy frame ensures positive locking necessary to withstand high blowing pressures. A wedge lock system with added pneumatic compensation ensures that the containers produced are perfectly formed with near invisible parting lines.

Servo Stretching and BlowingThe machine is provided with servo stretching as standard for perfect control of the blowing and stretching operation. This enables a high stretching speed with controlled acceleration that is optimum. It helps in proper material distribution and makes stretching set-up quick and easy. All stretching speeds and parameters are set from the touch screen panel, can be set on the fly without stopping the process and no manual intervention is needed. Monoblock valves are used for pre-blow, blow and exhaust thereby guaranteeing fast, precise and repetitive adjustment of blow settings.

Take-off MechanismThe blown bottles are gently held by the take-off mechanism and placed into an air conveyor or belt conveyor, which in turn transfers it to the filling line. In cases where the bottles are to be stored/transported away from the filling line, they can also be dropped into a receiving bin as required.

ControlsElectropneumatics indigenous make PLC, servo drives and controls, already in use in thousands of machines around the world, ensure quick response and reliability. All electrical controls are placed within the machine frame so that a single connection at the rear is enough to start the machine.
