The incident took place when a family, including four children aged 10 to 17, was out walking their pet terrier, Cas, at Bohan- na Wood, St. Mullin’s. The pet dog, owned by Rene and Margaret Jaggli, was on the lead when the attack hap- pened in a public area of the woods. ‘One dog was biting him on the legs, another on his neck and another in the chest. The three were pulling at him from different directions,’ said Rene. ‘They tore open his side. You could see his ribcage. We tried to keep them away, but it  was like a monster with 10 heads,’ said Re The badly-savaged terrier is now be treated on a drip at a local vets, with next 48 hours said to be critical.  A member of the hunt told local radio t the incident should not have happened  was sparked when the terrier barked at hounds. ‘Sisters act’ shines on spiritual CD THE POOR Clare nuns opened the doors to their monastery on Friday night to welcome some 40 people inside for the official launch of a spiritual cd that includes two hymns sung by the Sisters. Mons. Brendan Byrne, Diocesan Administrator and acting bishop for the Diocese, launched the cd ‘As Toibreachaan tSlánaithe’in St Clare’s par- lour with eleven Sisters. The cd is a compilation of prayers, hymns and scripture readings ‘as Gaeilge’ and reflective instrumental music. Rev. Mother Rosarie extended a warm wel- come to all to the Monastery and said the Sisters were delighted and honoured to be associated withthecd.The Poor ClareSisterssingthe beau- tiful latin hymns Salve Regina and Regina Caeli. The cd sells for €5 and is available from the Capuchin Friary, the Poor Clare Monastery and Glór Cheatharlach as well as from the Askea, Graiguecullen and the Cathedral Parish Centres.
