SAVAGE PETMEMBER CLAIMS BARKING TERRIER SPARKED ATTACK A FAMILY pet was attacked and savaged by a pack of up to 25 hounds owned by the Car-low Farmers Hunt at the weekend.
The incident took place when a family,including four children aged 10 to 17, wasout walking their pet terrier, Cas, at Bohan-
na Wood, St. Mullin’s.The pet dog, owned by Rene and Margaret
Jaggli, was on the lead when the attack hap-pened in a public area of the woods.
‘One dog was biting him on the legs,another on his neck and another in thechest. The three were pulling at him fromdifferent directions,’ said Rene.
‘They tore open his side. You could see hisribcage. We tried to keep them away, but it
was like a monster with 10 heads,’ said ReThe badly-savaged terrier is now be
treated on a drip at a local vets, with next 48 hours said to be critical.
A member of the hunt told local radio tthe incident should not have happened
was sparked when the terrier barked at hounds.

The cd is a compilation of prayers, hymns andscripture readings ‘as Gaeilge’ and reflectiveinstrumental music.
Rev. Mother Rosarie extended a warm wel-come to all to the Monastery and said the Sisterswere delighted and honoured to be associatedwiththe cd.The Poor ClareSisterssingthe beau-tiful latin hymns Salve Regina and Regina Caeli.
The cd sells for €5 and is available from theCapuchin Friary, the Poor Clare Monastery andGlór Cheatharlach as well as from the Askea,Graiguecullen and the Cathedral Parish Centres.
