• Let take a look at the different

types of computers which will

help us understand their

functions.

History of personal computer !

• the first personal computer was the

apple II which is designed by apple

computers in 1977.

• Further more , personal computer

have so many types according to

needs.

• Any pc that is designed to be placed on a

desk and not for portability is called a

desktop

Laptops

• A PC that can be moved around is called a laptop

computer. It get its name form that fact that you

keep it on your lap and use it

• A note book computer, also called a

laptop computer, is a portable note

book are thin and light weight. The

average weight form 2.5 to more that

10 pounds.

Net books

• This is a similar to a laptop , the only difference

being that is it smaller in size.

• Its weight 840g to 1 kg or 2,3 pounds.

• In 1996 Asus made first net book.

• It is sold ever 30,0000 units in four months.

Tablet Pc

• Tablet PC is a special type of note

book computer that allows you to

write or draw on the screen using a

digital pen

• The IPAD is an example of a tablet

PC.

• Its weight is varies form 1 to 1.5 kg.

Work station

• This computer is a despot which is

larger , consist of a more powerful

processor , greater memory.

• Such programmers is made by work

station like game developers, video

or sound editor and graphic

designers.

Main frame

• Mainframe computer are used by

large companies and organization to

perform critical tasks.

• Like transaction processing , senses

information statistical data

Server

• The server’s main purpose is to provide

certain services to other computer or a

whole net work of computers.

Mobile phones

• Many mobile phones can do a lot thing

computer can do.

• Like internet browsing ,Playing games and

videos etc.
