The Meaning of Perimenopause and Its Treatment

Are you in Perimenopause? Wondering what perimenopause is? Perimenopause refers to the beginning of the onset of menopause when women start to notice early signs of menopause while continuing to have a menstrual cycle. Many women may notice the occurrence of hot flashes, moodiness and irregular periods but may in fact be several years away from the start of menopause, the time when women have ceased to have a menstrual cycle altogether.

Menopause is a natural change that occurs in women. While it may not require treatment; the symptoms that come along with it can be painful and difficult to bear. If you are experiencing insomnia, mood swings, cloudy thinking, heavy menstrual periods and hot flashes, it would be wise to get to know some of the best and natural treatments available.

Below is a list of perimenopause treatments:

● Bioflavonoids for Hot Flashes: Like vitamin E, bioflavonoids may work by having a structure similar to estrogen.

● Helpful herbs such as Damiana, Horny goat weed and Maca, a Peruvian herb that may also help with hot flashes, night sweats and fatigue. In addition, these herbs may also stimulate sexual desire. Lower libido another symptom is caused by lowered estrogen levels.

● Vaginal lubricants or moisturizers plump up the cells lining the vagina.● Passion flower maintains blood levels of serotonin, the brain neurochemical that

promotes sleep. Make a tea of 1 tsp. of dried passionflower leaves before bed.● Chamomile: Reduces anxiety. Place 2-3 heaping tsp. of chamomile flowers in 1 cup of

boiling water.● Kava root: A potent sedative and anti-anxiety herb. ● Cravings are caused by magnesium-calcium imbalance. Take both minerals in ratio of

2:1 in favor of magnesium. Amino acid L-glutamine, may knock out sugar cravings.● Anxiety is the result of the lack of production of two hormones (estrogen and

progesterone); as they start to diminish, mood imbalances may occur. Eliminate caffeine, dairy products, chocolate, alcohol. Ginger-root tea and magnesium (300 mg daily) help combat fatigue. High levels of estrogen can deplete vitamin B6 and cause depression. Take B6 as part of a B-complex.

● To prevent dry skin and brittle nails, make sure you are getting essential fatty acids (EFAs) in your diet. Eat foods rich in omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs like flaxseed (1-2 Tbsp. per day), raw pumpkin seeds and cold-water fish (as salmon, trout, mackerel or halibut) three times weekly.

It is recommended to consult your physician for dosages of medical products and seek medical advice for symptoms that may worsen. Fore more info visit http://menopausetreatment.co/
