PERFORMING ARTS DEPARTMENT FALL 2021 EVENTS CALENDAR September September 22 & 29 @ 6:30 PM PAC Indoor Theatre Week one will feature acclaimed jazz violinist Jenny Scheinman along with multi-instrumentalist/ composer/producer John Clement Wood, saxophonist Beth Schenck and guitarist Matt Wrobel for a performance by their quartet House of Faern on Wednesday, September 22 in the PAC Indoor Theater. Week two will feature innovative guitarist and composer Jeff Parker, known for his work with the post-rock groups Tortoise, Isotope 217, and the Chicago Underground Trio. This year’s festival presents Shakespeare’s classic tale of avarice and ambition, Macbeth, in repertory with one of his most beloved comedies of all time, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Unfortunately for us, those robots have taken over the world. Did we imbue them with enough humanity to save themselves? Directed by Professor Kimberly Chin. Admission: TBA December BC/CSUB Orchestra Concert December 1 @ 7:30 PM PAC Indoor Theatre Come hear the debut of Bakersfield’s newest string orchestra, featuring musicians from BC, CSUB, and the local community. Admission: $10 general, students free. Tickets at the door. Concert Band Fall Concert December 2 @ 6:30 PM PAC Indoor Theatre The BC Concert Band returns to the stage to perform a variety of band repertoire and holiday selections. Admission: $10 general, students free. Tickets at the door. Holiday Choral Concert A Childhood Whimsy December 10 @ 7:30 PM PAC Indoor Theatre Ring in the holidays with BC’s choral ensembles singing a wide range of selections celebrating the joy of childhood during the winter season. Composers will include Whitacre, Handel, Kirchner, PDQ Bach, Moira Smiley, and more. Admission: $10 General, $5 Students/Staff/ Veterans
