Academic events in the Carlsen Center include:

• Music - Concert Band, Choirs, Johnson County Chorus (through Continuing Education)

• Theatre - Academic Theatre productions• Annual Fashion Show - Fashion Merchandising• Graduations/Pinning Ceremonies - Nursing (RN)/Practical Nursing (LPN),

Respiratory Therapy, Dental Hygiene, Police Academy (5 per year)• Student Talent Show - Student Life• Job Olympics • Athletics - Annual Awards, Dance Team Rehearsals

During the Performing Arts Series 2014-15 season, 1,692 tickets were sold to students at $5, or 9% of total sales.

Competition with other professional arts venues and organizations throughout Greater Kansas City.
