CHRIS KEMMERLYOwner

It may be hard to believe, but one of Arizona’s largest builders literally began with a cardboard box and a pickup truck.

Chris Kemmerly, a third-generation homebuilder, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in 1982. After graduation, Chris moved to Chicago where he began working in real estate development and home building for Kennedy Brothers Construction.

However, it wasn’t long before Arizona called to him. In 1992, Chris returned to Tucson and started his own building company.

Kemmerly and Miramonte have won many awards over the years. Some of those awards include: • Winning the Southern Arizona Custom Home Builder of the Year award not just once, but twice. • The National Association of Home Builders Best in American Living award. • The Alliance of Construction Trades Excellence in Construction award.

Coming from humble beginnings, Chris continues to be the driver that makes Miramonte the premier builder it is today.

CHAD HUNLEYChief Financial Officer

In 2017, Miramonte welcomed Chad Hunley to the Miramonte Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer. With over 20 years of accounting and finance experience in real estate related industries such as self-storage, muli-family, commercial properties and most recently a luxury golf resort residential development, Chad’s experience will assist Miramonte as it continues its growth as one of the state’s largest private homebuilders.

With additional expertise in operations related areas such as integration of accounting andbusiness systems focused on improved efficiencies and transparency of financial reporting; Chad also lends his experience to business developmentand operations. Chad’s willingness to be involved in all aspects of a business has provided him with a unique understanding of information flow, benefitting both the business and accounting process.

By joining the Miramonte team, Chad returned to Tucson where he has been a 30 year resident and an alumnus of The University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

JULIE MASTRIANIPresident

Serving Miramonte since 1996, Julie has worked closely with company CEO and founder, Chris Kemmerly, to meet the many challenges thecompany has faced over the years. She continues to effectively foster Miramonte’s growth andsuccess amid a continuously-changing business climate.

During her 20 plus year tenure at Miramonte, Julie has successfully overseen a wide variety of financial and operational responsibilities. Her experience, expertise, energy and practical understanding have been integral to the growth of the company.

A member of Miramonte’s Executive Team for over 15 years, Julie’s knowledge of homebuilding operations, sales and business development have been vital to the company’s success.

Julie is currently a member of the Southern Arizona Home Builder’s Association (SAHBA), and received a bachelor‘s degree in political science from the University of Illinois.

D ON WALTERS Executive VP, Northern Arizona Division

Don Walters has come out of retirement to join the Northern Arizona Division of Miramonte Homes as the Executive Vice President.

For over 35 years, Don has been a trusted leader in construction and development. His construction and management experience touch all aspects of the industry including financial planning and reporting, estimating, scheduling, staffing and design build. Having built several construction companies from the ground up, he knows what it takes to succeed. Partnering with clients, colleagues and employees to build quality projects has been the focus of Don’s career.

Don is or has been an active member of several professional organizations in Flagstaff where valuable relationships are formed. Those groups include Chair of the Coconino County Planning and Zoning Commission, Flagstaff Regional Plan Citizens Advisor Committee, Citizens Advisory Committee for the New Flagstaff Regional Plan and the Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona Advisor Board (ECoNA).

Don attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott where he majored in Aeronautical Science with a minor in engineering.

A native of Northern Arizona, Don comes from an Arizona pioneering family who can be tracked back to the 1860’s.

KATHY McFARLANE Vice President of Purchasing, Tucson Division

Kathy McFarlane brings a wealth of both public and private homebuilding experience to her position as Vice President of Operations at Miramonte.

In her nearly 20-year career in the home building industry, Kathy has been responsible for a wide variety of construction/field operations and purchasing operations.

Kathy started her career in the home building industry in 1997 with Del Webb in Northern California, and transferred to Tucson with Del Webb in 1999.

In 2001, Kathy went to work with Richmond American Homes. In 2006 she transitioned to Standard Pacific Homes as Director of Purchasing and Construction.

Kathy attended the University of Phoenix, where where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

DAN RIORDANVice President of Sales and Marketing - Northern Arizona DivisionArizona Designated Broker

Dan Riordan is an Arizona native bringing over 30 years of experience in residential sales and salesmanagement to the Miramonte team.

Operating out of our Flagstaff Office, Dan’s broad experience in Real Estate and Sales Management lends to the “wide-angle” view required to produce sales results. He motivates and manages the sales team and helps maintain enduring, fruitful relationships with our local Realtor® Association communities.

Dan’s priority is keeping our Miramonte Home buyers completely satisfied with their purchase. By involving the buyer in the entire home building process Dan keeps the buyers engaged and comfortable from contract to close. Having sold his first Miramonte home in 2004, Dan can attest to the quality that is Miramonte.

Dan serves Miramonte as its Designated Broker.

GERRIE GRAY, CGBVice President of Land Acquisit ion and Development, Tucson Division

Gerrie Gray has spent over fourteen years in the home building industry, bringing an invaluable can-do attitude to Miramonte. Her experience in project management has allowed her to serve Miramonte in various capacities including forward planning, land development, land acquisition, sales and marketing, on-site project management and home owner’s association management.

Gerrie interfaces with engineers and contractors. She also represents Miramonte at public planning sessions and city council meetings.

Gerrie is an active Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) member. She serves on the Advisory Committee and SAHBA Tech Committee.

Prior to joining the home building industry, Gerrie spent 17 years working in a variety of roles at various engineering firms in Tucson.

Gerrie currently has a Certified Graduate Builder Designation from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

STEPHANIE QUESADAVice President of Sales & Marketing - Tucson, AZ Division

As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Stephanie Quesada shares her positive attitude, attention to detail and exceptional communication skills with her sales team on a daily basis. By building a strong team environment and setting the goals high, Stephanie has taken the Miramonte sales team to new heights.

Stephanie’s ability to understand and communicate the customer’s needs to the sales team, the construction team and the title and mortgage companies has made the buying experience at Miramonte an exceptional one. Proof of her success is seen in the positive homebuyer surveys which continue to be returned to Miramonte.

Prior to joining Miramonte, Stephanie spent over 10 years in the real estate business. Her tenure includes experience in the mortgage industry, property management and homebuilding.

Always in the growth and learning mode, Stephanie is a tremendous asset to the Miramonte team.

JIM KINZERVice President of ConstructionTucson Division

Having been part of Miramonte’s growth and success from 1994 through the early 2000’s, Jim Kinzer rejoined the Miramonte team in 2017. As the Vice President of Construction, Tucson Division, Jim’s vast construction experience is an asset to Miramonte’s team as we continue to grow and be among the industries top builders.

For over 40 years, Jim has been involved in all phases of construction. His time in the industry has gained him the respect of industry leaders, subcontractors and co-workers. Jim’s unique ability to communicate with all parties including the client and his ability to get that information out to everyone involved in building the home has resulted in quality construction and satisfied customers, time after time.

For 13 years, Jim was the owner of his own residential and specialty commercial building company. In 2013 he was recognized by SAHBA as the Custom Builder of the Year. A carpenter by trade, Jim knows the ins and outs of construction

TERRY TENNYSONVice President of Construction, Northern Arizona Division

Terry Tennyson is leading the charge at Miramonte’s Northern Arizona Division. Having spent over 20 years in the home building industry, Terry has proven to be a tremendous asset both in the construction management area and in the field.

Terry’s leadership skills are reflected in his ability to manage numerous superintendents and trade partners. He promotes a team oriented environment which has resulted in a high employee retention rate. The Northern Arizona Division, under Terry’s supervision, is process conscious, schedule driven, and profitable while delivering homes “on-time” and of the highest quality.

The Northern Arizona Division continues to see exceptionally high customer service ratings under Terry’s direction. The experience he brings to the job, his ability to foster a team environment and effectively include the homeowner in the homebuilding process is all reflected in positive homeowner surveys.

Prior to joining Miramonte, Terry spent several years with a national builder where he rose to the position of Director of Construction. During this time Terry was Superintendent of the year in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Terry also has a State of Arizona Contractor’s License and is OSHA trained and certified.

The national recession was like nothing I had ever experienced in my more than 30-year career in real estate and home building. The recession challenged the Arizona real estate market; it was an extremely difficult time.

A high number of foreclosures, excessive inventory, and a bleak forecast caused a sizable number of builders and real estate companies to go out of business or make the decision that Arizona is not the place to make future investments. We at Miramonte couldn’t disagree more. In fact, during this historic recession and real estate market downturn, Miramonte companies continued to expand operations, build in record numbers, and invest in many new developments.

We are an Arizona Homebuilder, and Arizona is our home. We are a company founded on experience, talent, a sense of community and exceptional customer service.
