Since 2005 we have invested5.6 million in our sports acilities

500,000 in sports pitch improvements and equipment.

750,000 in third generation sports pitch.

40,000 in two outdoor tennis courts.

1.2 million reurbishment o our Buxton Sports Hall.

3.2 million Kirtley Reurbishment and extension that includes a newgym acility, sports science laboratory and dance studio.

o the art ftness suite.Our acilities are used by

Stuart Darlington Badminton Captain

CoachThe University o Derby Badminton Club has two mens teams and one womensteam competing in the British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) divisions andoers additional opportunities to compete in the local league. The club oersopportunities or all students o all levels to play badminton through recreationaland no strings sessions. The club has been selected as a perormance club todevelop a specialist programme to attract and retain talented student badmintonplayers. A squad o players will access additional benefts to other sports clubswithin the university.

Criteria or scholarship

Junior National Representative honours, GB top junior 10 Ranking,GB top 30 senior ranking or have shown potential at a junior level.

Background: Head Coach at DerbyTrailblazers. The National League Club has

an excellent record o achievement and most

recently won the Mens National Trophy.

The University aims to develop a strong

player pathway and partnership with the

Derby Trailblazers.

The University o Derby Mens Basketball Club competes in the British

Universities and College Sports (BUCS) divisions and oers recreational

opportunities or all students. Mens Basketball has been selected as a

Perormance Sport Club to develop a specialist programme in partnership

with Derby Trailblazers to attract and retain talented student basketball

players to the University o Derby. A squad o players will access additionalbenefts to other sports clubs within the university.

to share his experiences to assist and develop our

athletes.
