    Amendment Number 06917 would amend the State Empoyees' Retirement Code to

    1) Eective January 1 2015, estabish a hybrid benet tier, which includes dened

    benet and dened contribution components, applicable to most new State

    employees or empoyees returning aer a break in service Current members of

    SERS woud be ineligible to participate in the new hybrid tier

    2) For the dened benet portion most State employees woud become members of

    "Cass A5 and would earn benets at a 2% benet accrual rate A member

    would be vested in the dened benet component after accumuating 10 years of

    service credit The benet rmua would be equivaent to 2% multipied by the

    members years of service (maximum of 25 years) mutipied by the member's

    nal average salary (highest ve years) with an annua pay limit of $50000indexed at 1% per year. Class A5 members would contribute 6% of
