PepsiCo India Holdings has set up a state-of-the-art bottling plant in the industrial area in Marathwada with an investment of Rs 25 crore. The plant, for carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, with a capacity of 600 bottles per minute, is the fourth similar facility already developed at Roha in Raigad district and two in Mumbai. This plant is spread across 51 acres of land in the industrial area developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

The challenge

Existing floors lined with AR tiles are facing issues with regular breaking hence require frequent maintenance. It also has numerous joints which is proven difficult to maintain required hygiene standards. Moreover, failing floor are not aesthetically pleasing. Time, hygiene and aesthetics are the three parameters where customer is facing problem.

Flooring condition before application of Ucrete

Our solution We have clearly segregated the entire plant, activity wise, in 17 different area of operations where we have suggested Ucrete MF and UD200 depending on the nature of floor usage. The complete proposal was systematically presented by giving solutions to their existing problem and how it will benefit the customer. The customer´s benefit

Monolithic. No joints mean no place for dust to accumulate and bacteria growth, it helps to maintain plant’s hygiene.

Maximum chemical resistance. Does not deteriorate under exposure to chemical attack, including food acids which was happening in bottling area where safe and hygiene were main problem.

No periodic floor maintenance cost and no shutdowns for floor repair and maintenance. Plant shutdown will incur high cost and tedious burden for customer in terms of planning and daily output.

Repair and maintenance generate dust which may lead to contamination in a running plant. Time factor also play an important role as customer wants to eliminate or minimize it for regular repair work which was happening.

Projects facts at a glance

1,500 m2 of Ucrete UD200 and 750 m2 Ucrete MF were applied during the first order in August 2016. We have supplied the material and work was done successfully.

With proven performance, customer gained much confidence and awarded repeat order of 600 m2 of Ucrete UD 200 and 1,500 m2 of Ucrete MF in October 2016.

Repeat order of 150 m2 Ucrete RG was obtained in December 2016.

Total 2,100 m2 of Ucrete UD 200, 2,250 m2 of Ucrete MF and 150 m2 of Ucrete RG have been applied in the bottling plant.
