Ellie’s InterviewWho did I interview? My Mum (M)When? At HomeInterviewer? Ellie Shi (E)Questions? Regarding to beliefs
Interview Q1E: What religion do you believe?M: None. When I was young we were not allowed to
believe in any type of religion back then in China. The communist party have told us not to believe in any supernatural things. But when I came to Australia I have found people from the church are very nice and they have a solid bond and network to share their feelings, which is important . So I have chosen to send my children to study Anglican scripture at school.
Interview Q2E: What are the most important values at home?M: Love, share and discipline. Love is very important to hold the family together.
Say “I love you” and make your loved ones feel being loved, that is the key for a family to be strong.
We have to share lots of things at home: food, bed, bathroom, stories and feelings including happiness and sadness.
Discipline are rules to follow at home, both kids and adults need to follow them, which leads them to form good manners and habits.
Interview Q3E: Why are house values so important to you?M: Have families to do the correct things, follow the
rules, love each other. These are important factors which will have some positive impact on my kids when they grow up. They will be responsible, respectful happy adults who are willing to share and always stay organised .
Interview Q4E: What is your most favorite dish?M: Dumplings. I love to make and eat dumplings. In
China, we have dumplings in some special occasions like Chinese New Year and also on the coldest winter days .
This is the end of my speech
