My dear friends in Christ,

Pentecost, which is celebrated 50 days after Easter, commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other disciples following the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus. It also marks the beginning of the Christian Church’s mission to the world. That’s where we come in. God is sending us. Jesus told His disciples, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you” (John 20:21) So if the Father sent Jesus out with the Spirit, He is sending us the same way. Not on our own, but equipped with all the Spirit’s grace and power. The Spirit is always there to strengthen us and guide us. And we are being sent out to show love by treating people with the same mercy and kindness He has shown for us. What a beautiful gift we are given today!

The Parish Bible Study course concluded last weekend. I would like to thank Ann Connolly and those who helped in any way to make this program successful.

Tickets for our 60th Anniversary Dinner are on sale now after all Masses and at the Rectory during the week. The menu includes Pasta, Chicken, Sausage and Peppers, Roasted Potatoes, Green Beans, Salad, Rolls and Dessert. BYOB. Please celebrate with us!

Parish Council News: Highlights include forming an Arts and Environment Committee to decorate the Altar and Church for the various Liturgical Seasons; a Ministry Fair in September as we are in need of Ushers, Altar Servers and Bell Choir members. Please consider sharing your time and talent with our beloved Church.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Kindly Return All Baby Bottles

There are still 60 Baby Bottles that have not been returned since our Baby Bottle Boomerang. If you are in possession of one of these bottles, please return it to the Rectory Office or place it in the collection basket or give it to an Usher. These bottles are used each year so that we do not have to keep replacing them. It doesn’t matter if they are empty or filled (that would be nice, too!), we just really need the bottles. Thank you so much for your consideration.

RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

This program is a process of reflection, prayer, instruction, discernment, and formation for adults and older children seeking to become Catholic. This process is the inspiring model used by the early Christians to bring others into the Church.

Our focus is to nurture the conversion in the hearts and lives of all who enter into the program. Using prayer, catechesis and Scripture study, we will walk with you on your journey of faith. And with the community, you will embrace Christ through the Sacramental life of the Church.
