DRP employs 52 staff throughout Pennsylvania who respond to and work with nearly 6,000 intakes received annually.

Position: Director of Development

Position Location: Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, or Philadelphia

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Position Purpose and Objectives: To carry out and coordinate the fund development activities to ensure the ongoing operation of Disability Rights Pennsylvania.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

1. Uses computer approximately up to 6-8 hours per day. 2. Travel to all areas of the Commonwealth, including some overnight

travel required. 3. Sits approximately 2-8 hours per day. 4. Spends approximately 2-4 hours per day in meetings. 5. Requires working under a moderate degree of stress (time

constraints; deadlines; multi-tasking; adherence to grant requirements; complex issues; conflict resolution, etc.).

Essential Functions:

1. Creates and implements annual development plan in partnership with CEO.

2. Fully engage members of the Board of Directors in fund development activities, supports Board Development Committee, trains Board members in fund development.

3. Writes grant proposals and reports to corporate and foundation funders.

4. Develops, manages, and grows individual donor base; manages appeals; manages giving campaigns; cultivates major gifts.

5. Creates and manages special events.

6. Prepares monthly and quarterly fund development reports, evaluates progress towards goals, offers assessments, and proposes adjustments as needed.

7. Develops fund development materials, social media posts, annual reports, and other publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree. 2. Experience with not-for-profit development. 3. Preferred knowledge and understanding of advocacy for persons with

disabilities, Disability Rights Pennsylvania services, and with people of diverse backgrounds.

4. Strong organizational, communication, writing and time management skills.

5. The ability to meet deadlines. 6. Ability to work independently and with appropriate supervision. 7. Working knowledge of computer programs including Outlook,

SharePoint, Excel, Word, internet, social media, etc. 8. Be able to travel extensively across Pennsylvania, throughout the

year. Occasionally overnight travel is required. 9. Must be able to work weekends, as needed.
