1. pecks: taps at; strikes with a beak

2. frozen: hardened with cold; turned into solid ice

3. flippers: flat, broad body parts used for swimming by animals such as seals and penguins

4. preen: to smooth or arrange feathers with a beak

5. cuddles: lies close and comfortably; curls up

6. snuggles: lies closely and comfortably together; cuddles

7. hatch: to come out of an egg

8. rookery: a large group of birds together raising their young; a nesting colony

9. squid: a sea animal that has a pair of tail fins and ten arms
