ANNOUNCEMENT

GOVERNING BOARD-ENGAGED FACULTY CONSULTANT,

\The Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) seeks to appoint a

Governing Board-engaged Faculty Consultant for an initial period of one year, starting

October 2012. The tenu~e of service of the Governing Board-engaged Faculty Consultant is

fixed to a maximum ,of three years, s'ubject to yearly renewal on satisfactory performance

evaluation and mutual consent.

CPSC is an inter-governmental human resources development organization mandated to

assist in the improveme,nt of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) systemsin its member countries in Asia and~ the Pacific region through training & development,research & development, ICT, policy advisory and project development & consultancy. The,17 member countries of CPSC. a.re: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Rep. of

Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongoliai Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Nepal, Islamic.Republic of Pakistan, Papua New GuiQea, the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Sri Lanka

and Thailand. CPSC seeks the interest of qualified professionals from its Member Countrieswith relevant background in the general areas of technical ed~c'ation, technical teacher

training and research, entrepreneurship development, curriculum development, TVET skilldevelopment, education for sustainable development, educational technology and

management.

Qualifications Criteria

Specifically, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria

~ Must be a citizen of any of the GPSC member countries;

~ Must be below 50 years of age

:> Must be proficient in oral and written communication (English is the official language

used in CPSC) and with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;

:> Must be proficie!1t in computer/ 1.T skills;

~ Holder of Doctoral,.degree in technical education I engineering education / technology

education or advanced post-doctoral degree preferably in any field in TVET;

r:> Possesses at least 10 .years of work experience in the field of technical and.vocational education and training as Professor or Senior Faculty in

Universities/Technical and Engineering Colleges/Teacher Training or other Institutes

The active member countries of CPSC are:Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Republic of Korea,. ,Colleges/Institutes of Excellence/Polytechnics, preferably experienced in any of the;following: curriculum development, Information and .Communication Technology (ICT),:;teacher training, qualification framework, education for sustainable development, emergingtechnology (knowledge in renewable resources and/or Green IT an advantage), educationalmanagement and training, .and skills for the informal sector and the disadvantaged. He/shemust be able to contribute to the design, development and coordination of regional, in-country, and customized training programs and conduct other projects and activities as maybe assigned. '

'He/she must have a Master's degree in technical/technology education, engineering or inany related field of study, must be fluent in oral and written English, with the ability to work ina multi-cultural environment.

T~e compensation package includes an annual salary of US$12,OOO and fringe benefitswhich are tax free in the Philippines (for expatriates only), travel expenses on firstappointment and on expiry of contract, minimum housing allowance, medical insurance andvacation and sick leaves, in accordance to the prevailing policies of CPSC. regional level through programs and research-based project/so

A PIPIE applicant must be a citizen of any of the CPSC member countries, at least a Bachelor's degreeholder and a graduate from a reputable university, preferably with specialization on any of the following

.fields: technical and vocational education and training (TVET), Information Communication Technology (ICT)or related fields, management, technology education, social science or allied areas, or with Diploma inEngineeringfTechnology with at least 3 years or equivalent of professional: experience in industry and/or

TVET institution

He/she must be between 20 to 35 years old. proficient in the E,nglish language .(basic speaking and writingskills). computer literat~. open to learning and with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

A monthly allowance of US$200, meals, accommodation in the CPSC hostel and other services (subject toavailability of facilities) will be provided by CPSC.
