Block A

1. For corner A units (see illustration following step7), sew two red triangles to adjacent sides of a 787K square. Make (26) units.

2. In the same manner, sew red triangles to adjacentsides of a 788 WK square to make corner B units.Make (26) of these units.

3. Sew a 790 WK triangle to a corner A unit to make(13) A units. Trim to 4 1/2" square, as needed.

4. Sew a 786 K triangle to a corner B unit to make(13) B units. Trim to 4 1/2" square, as needed.

5. Sew a 788 K triangle to a corner B unit to make(13) C units. Trim to 4 1/2" square, as needed.

6. Sew a 790 KW triangle to a corner A unit to make(13) D units. Trim to 4 1/2" square, as needed.

7. Lay out one A unit, one B unit, one C unit, andone D unit in a four-patch arrangement as shown.Join the A units to complete the block. Make 13 ofblock A and trim them to 8 1/2" square, as needed.

Block B

8. For unit E, sew four 791 WK triangles to a 789 Ksquare. Trim to 3 3/8" square, as needed. Then sew790 K triangles to the unit as shown to completeunit E. Make 12 and trim them to 4 1/2" square,as needed.

9. For unit F, sew 789 WK triangles to a 789 K square.Trim to 3 3/8" square, as needed. Then sew 791 Ktriangles to the unit as shown to complete unit F.Make 12 and trim them to 4 1/2" square, as needed.

10. Sew E and F units together in pairs. Then sewa white 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" strip to opposite sides tocomplete block B. Make 12 of block B. Trim themto 8 1/2" square, as needed.
