Art. 6A (1)  The President and the Vice President shall be elected in one pair directly by the people [Presiden dan Wakil Presiden dipilih dalam satu pasangan secara langsung oleh rakyat]

Requirements . The Candidate President and the Candidate Vice President shall

be (respectively) an Indonesian citizen as of his/her birth and shall have never accepted another citizenship due to his/her own accord, shall have never committed an act of treason against the state, and shall be mentally and physically capable to execute the duties and the obligations as President and Vice President.

Constitutional/Legal Mechanism for Presidential Election

1. The President and the Vice President shall be elected in one pair directly by the people.***)

2. The candidate President and Vice President pairs shall be proposed by political parties or combination of political parties’ participants to a general election prior to the execution of such general election. ***)

3. The candidate President and Vice President pairs acquiring votes more than fifty percent of the ballots cast at a general election with a minimum of at least twenty percent of the votes in every province scattered in more than one half of the total of provinces in Indonesia, shall be inaugurated to become the President and the Vice President. ***)

4. In the event no candidate President and Vice President pair is elected, two of the candidate President and Vice President pairs acquiring the first and second majority vote in the general election shall be elected by the people directly and the pair acquiring the majority votes of the people shall be inaugurated as the President and the Vice President. ****)

5. The procedure for the execution of the election of the President and the Vice President shall be further regulated by laws. ***)

Presidential Threshold

Pasal 221: Calon Presiden dan Wakil Presiden diusulkan dalam 1 (satu) pasangan oleh Partai Politik atau Gabungan Partai Politik

Pasal 222: Pasangan Calon diusulkan oleh Partai Politik atau Gabungan Partai Politik Peserta Pemilu yang memenuhi persyaratan perolehan kursi paling sedikit 20 % (dua puluh persen) dari jumlah kursi DPR atau memperoleh 25 % (dua puluh lima persen) dari suara sah secara nasional pada Pemilu anggota DPR sebelumnya

Pasal 416: (1) Pasangan Calon terpilih adalah Pasangan Calon yang memperoleh suara lebih dari 50% (lima puluh persen) dari jumLah suara dalam Pemilu Presiden dan Wakil Presiden dengan sedikitnya 20% (dua puluh persen) suara di setiap provinsi yang tersebar dilebih dari 1/2 (setengah) jumlah provinsi di Indonesia;

(2) Dalam hal tidak ada Pasangan Calon terpilih sebagaimana dimaksud pada ayat (1), 2 (dua) Pasangan Calon yang memperoleh suara terbanyak pertama dan kedua dipilih kembali oleh rakyat secara langsung dalam Pemilu Presiden dan Wakil Presiden.
