Ernst&Young has shown a business can

be involved in radical social change

Business needs to remember it is part of society. We even went

so far as saying wed like to define ourselves by making the

difference outside of what we do in work. One of these,

working with the Private Equity Foundation, aimed at reducing

the number of young people who end up without a job or any

education after leaving school aged 16. Asked whether he thinks

clients care about this sort of social giving, he says increasingly

that they do, and that it creates something of

a halo effect. More importantly,he argues, it is helpful given that

    society has disconnected from

    businessas a result of the

    financial crisis post-2007.12

Building the portfolio what we have

    learnt

PEF has to be the expert; know what works

Unless you are visible, you cannot play the role of

    catalyst

Most charities do not define product or market

Difficult to achieve impact without influence

Most donors fund inputs and hope for the best.

Funding outcomes is still light years away!
