I thought this was a really interesting topic to read about, although I felt it was lacking some of a controversial debate. I also think that the target audience for the public should be better addressed, such as the writers purpose and the intended audience. What assumptions, values, and beliefs would readers have to hold to find this argument persuasive? I thought the piece was very well written, and I enjoyed reading it. Some of the goals for essay 2 were to include the ethos, pathos, and logos of the author. Such as:

Logos of the argument-How effective is the writers use of evidence?How is the argument supported and developed?

Ethos of the argument-How does the writer try to seem credible and trustworthy to the intended audience?Does the writer deal fairly with alternative views?

Pathos of the argument-How does the writer use concrete language, word choice, narrative, examples, and analogies to tap readers emotions, values, and imagination?

Which if any of these does the author use to persuade you to their side of the argument? How?

As a group, college students are heavy drinkers, with 15% of young adults ages eighteen to twenty-five engaging in binge drinking CITATION 2ND ARTICLE. Underage drinking contributes largely to alcohol sales, with minors consumption accounting for 19.4% of sales CITATION 2nd ARTICLE.

This is a good example of logos, it is a main claim made by the author and is supported with evidence.

I think you have a really good start here, I would just review the goals and implement some citations of examples on how the author used either ethos, pathos, and logos to get their point across.
