Preparing:•Familiarise yourself with the schools ‘First Day’ processes, traditions and expectations•Know where and when you are on duty and what you are expected to do•Make friendly contact with the staff, including the offices staff and custodians•Know where to find the things you’ll need – supplies/math manipulatives etc•Find out what random things are happening that will affect you in the first month•Be as flexible and helpful as possible•Read your students OSR’s if they are available and note those on IEP’s etc.
