Landscape as a collective memory
Why are memories from childhood more vivid than other memories? They are often attached to a peculiar landcape. Illustration by Morten Voigt
What kind of legacy do we want to give the future generation? What kind of collective memory are those children going to have?

If everyone lived like in Denmark, we wouldn’t have enough of this one planet (our collective landscape) already 4 month after new year…
What trace of the past do we carry to the present and the future? What kind of landscape are we creating? Project: Amagerhill project by Big & SLA

Landscape as a collective memory
The circular economy committee future publication will publish guidelines about the circular approach of building landscape architecture projects
The near circleThe less need there is to transform a project site or parts of the site or to proces building elements or materials to recycle them, the less ressources as energy, waterand labor is needed.
The long term circulationWhen building elements or materials are long lasting or designed to be repaired/restored following the principe of design for disassembly making possible to changing singular parts.
The clean circlesIf the purity and quality of a building material is preserved, the last can be betterused and reused than if it is processed, for example by being coated, glued or cast.
The repeated recyclingWhen a light processing unable reuse of used materials in a new project and therebyget a longer life cycle, the material (and its value) is still exist, but in another form.
