Thank you to the parents who offered me their umbrellas when it started to rain. The snake was spoed by children in the top playground during the morning, and Miss Glover and Mrs Barker man- aged to coax it out into the alleyway and keep it se- cure while we were waing for the RSPCA. Eventually the RSPCA phoned back and told us to let it go, but having taken a photo of it and researched what it might be, we were fairly sure it wasnt nave to our country, so once the children had all gone Mrs Marsh and Mrs Robinson liſted it up with the aid of a lier picker and put it in a box. Mrs Marsh and Mrs Carey then took it to the vet who confirmed it was a python, and they arranged for someone to come and collect it. If you do happen to know anyone who has lost a py- thon, Ash House Vets will have the details of the man in Farnham who is taking care of it. Hopefully there will be no more snake stories to tell this week! Please dont forgot to post your painted peb- bles through the fence near the top alley gate. There is a small green plasc basket just inside the fence where you can drop the pebbles. We have a few, and chil- dren in school will be painng theirs this week, but it would be really lovely to get one from as many of you as possible. School staff will spray them with varnish so that they can withstand the weather, and they will then be made in to a permanent display as a re- minder of the peculiar situaon that we have been in for the past few months. The deadline for the pebbles is Wednesday this week. Thank you. It is lovely when parents post pictures and videos of children on Tapestry, and there has been some great home learning happening. We know that it is somemes hard for parents to manage home learning and we really appreciate all that you are doing. For those of you who arent yet accessing Tapestry, even if you arent able to do the acvi- es with your children, there are some story vide- os on there of school staff reading stories which your children may like to see. If you are having any difficulty logging on to Tap- estry then please contact the school office. Snake! Pebbles

Summer Term Newsletter 2

15 June 2020

Some of you will have heard the children talking

about a snake in the playground on Friday, and some

of you will have seen me sitting in the alley way

‘guarding’ something as the children went home on

Friday. Thank you to the parents who offered me

their umbrellas when it started to rain. The snake

was spotted by children in the top playground during

the morning, and Miss Glover and Mrs Barker man-

aged to coax it out into the alleyway and keep it se-

cure while we were waiting for the RSPCA.

Eventually the RSPCA phoned back and told us to let

it go, but having taken a photo of it and researched

what it might be, we were fairly sure it wasn’t native

to our country, so once the children had all gone Mrs

Marsh and Mrs Robinson lifted it up with the aid of a

litter picker and put it in a box. Mrs Marsh and Mrs

Carey then took it to the vet who confirmed it was a

python, and they arranged for someone to come and

collect it.

If you do happen to know anyone who has lost a py-

thon, Ash House Vets will have the details of the

man in Farnham who is taking care of it. Hopefully

there will be no more snake stories to tell this week!

Please don’t forgot to

post your painted peb-

bles through the fence

near the top alley gate.

There is a small green

plastic basket just inside

the fence where you

can drop the pebbles.

We have a few, and chil-

dren in school will be

painting theirs this week, but it would be really

lovely to get one from as many of you as possible.

School staff will spray them with varnish so that

they can withstand the weather, and they will

then be made in to a permanent display as a re-

minder of the peculiar situation that we have

been in for the past few months. The deadline for

the pebbles is Wednesday this week. Thank you.

It is lovely when parents post pictures and videos

of children on Tapestry, and there has been some

great home learning happening. We know that it

is sometimes hard for parents to manage home

learning and we really appreciate all that you are

doing. For those of you who aren’t yet accessing

Tapestry, even if you aren’t able to do the activi-

ties with your children, there are some story vide-

os on there of school staff reading stories which

your children may like to see.

If you are having any difficulty logging on to Tap-

estry then please contact the school office.

Snake! Pebbles

Page 2: Pebbles - st-michaels-inf.hants.sch.uk · It is lovely when parents post pictures and videos of children on Tapestry, and there has been some great home learning happening. We know

We have had a few more key worker chil-

dren joining school, and our ‘bubbles’ are

now just about full. We are still hoping

that we may be able to invite Y2 children

back, even if it’s only for half a day, before

the end of term, but we are waiting to

find out if there is any change in the guid-

ance from the Government.

A few reminders

sun hats in school every day please

sun cream applied before school, please don't bring tubes of suncream in from home

trainers or robust school shoes, preferably no laces

arrive no more than 5 minutes before drop off/pick up

keep children with you at all times

if your child is absent for any reason please let the school know as soon as possible and inform us of the

reasons why (illness and what sort of illness or choosing to stay home for the day). We have to do an exten-

sive daily return to the Department for Education and they ask why children who are entitled to a school

place aren’t in every day.

Only lunchboxes and sunhats to be brought into school and coats if it’s cold. No book bags or sunglasses

please.

We do miss everyone and we hope that you are all keeping well and safe at home if we haven’t been able to

see you in the playground. Have a good week, and we hope that it’s not too long before we see you all

again!
