When you think about getting your car cleaned, the place where most people look towards first is their neighborhood car wash. It seems like the logical answer, right? Car is dirty, so you take it to the place that specializes in washing cars. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? Well, for some people, it might, but those people don’t know about the risks of taking their car to the car wash or how they could be getting it so much cleaner simply by using a much more effective method.

Have you ever had a friend who bought a brand new car and was quite serious about making sure they kept up with the maintenance of the new car? We all have. Usually they will end up taking their car into the car wash about once a week or so. The funny thing is, these people really think they are doing something good and valuable by washing their car at the car wash so often. That is, until a year or two down the road, when their car starts looking a bit worse for wear and they can’t quite figure out why. So they keep on washing their car, hoping they can “wash out” whatever has caused their car to start looking like that.

What they don’t know, is it’s the car wash itself that made their car start looking like that. You know those big mechanical scrubbers they have in just about every automated car wash? Guess what? Those things are very dangerous for your car’s surface. When they come into contact with your car’s paint job, they are anything but gentle. They create lots of friction and very tiny “swirls” on the surface of your car. Washing your car once or twice isn’t enough to see these swirls with the naked eye, but washing your car like that repeatedly will make it impossible to not notice.

Instead, why not try washing your car with something like the waterless car wash, which will make your car shine brightly and not do a thing to negatively impact your paint job. In fact, some waterless car wash detailers even specialize in using the products to help get rid of the appearance of these swirls and imperfections caused by washing your car at a traditional car wash. If you care about the way your car looks, don’t even give that car wash a second glance.
