Peterborough Examiner WORDS OF WORTH Worth Hartman, Chaplain Pondering the TrinityThis Sunday, June 7, is Trinity Sunday. Christians have recently celebrated Easter when we recall the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Last week was Pentecost as we experience the Holy Spirit. Sunday we affirm God in fullness as: 1) Creator and Sustainer, 2) God made flesh in Jesus Christ, and 3) God as Comforter, Advocate, Helper and Counselor in the Holy Spirit. People of faith came up with this concept of the Trinity, three personsof one God, to try to help our small, little minds understand a great, mysterious, powerful God, way beyond our ability to comprehend. We know a full, multifaceted, many gifted God who shows up in our lives and in our world in a rich variety of ways. We develop many ways to describe, explain, or put into words, that which is beyond words. I hope what we can take from this effort of pondering the Trinity is to expand our image of God. Some of us still picture an old bearded man in the sky who is stern-faced, mean, harsh and ready to judge us and punish us. We also have royal images of a kingly figure, way beyond us, sitting on a throne, laying down laws. The Trinity describes a God of relationship, family, parent and child, a God with us, for us, who is an energizing flow of love. This Trinitarian God reaches out in friendship, gives away power, strength and authority rather than hoarding it up. The God we are trying to understand in the Trinity is approachable, loving us and wanting us to love back and love others. My hope and prayer is we can know and feel loved by this great and good God as we face lifes challenges and blessings. Welcome to WVN! Trash Disposal We remind you to bag ALL items and tie the bag closed before putting into the trash receptacles in Tamarack. Staff members must take the bags out one at a time. Pizza boxes, soiled articles, food, etc., notonly produce raw odors, but must then be picked up by a staff member, risking his/her health.

Our Little Mask June 2020 By: C.R. Case

My Little Mask; when I first put it On, Said to myself…it won’t be for long.

I can do this, it’s all for the good, And if that is the case, then I should.

Before very long I began to realize,

Wearing the mask is very wise. It protects not only others you see,

Especially, family and friends dear to me.

It has other advantages; just to name a

few, No shaving, no make-up no face prep to

do. It also hides that mischievous grin,

When you throw down the cards and shout, I WIN!

Wear your mask and care for it well,

It could save lives too numerous to tell. And when It’s all over we can look

back and ask, We’re all still here…was it all because
