    PHYSICAL EDUCATION INFORMATION

    Do the students elect activities? If so, when?

    Yes, at the beginning of each commencement of activity classes, which happens every 3

    weeks.

    Are there different skill level classes in any activities?

    No, 9th

    -12th

    are all mixed into one class.

    What time (in relation to bells) does class usually begin?

    8 minutes at the beginning of class and 10 minutes at the end of class.

    What are the teachers attendance responsibilities?

    Taking attendance at the beginning of class before dressing and then again for thespecified activity class.

    Tardy policies?

    During 1st

    attendance on their 3rd

    they serve a detention with the teacher and on the 4th

    they serve one with the office and are written-up.

    Dressing policies?

    Orange shirt, blue/ black bottoms. A sweatshirt of any color is fine. Tennis shoes arerequired. Each no dress is 10% of entire quarter grade. If they are wearing the in

    appropriate attire then 1 or 2 pts are taken off they participation points.

    What procedures are followed at the beginning of class?

    Attendance, dress, make sure the locker room is locked, then attendance again.

    What supervision duties are required of the teacher?

    Locker room supervision and making sure the kids dont go into the commons after they

    are finished dressing.

    What do students do if an injury or illness prevents participation in physical

    education?

    (Is a note from home or a doctor required?)

    A parent note helps with 2 days of activity anything longer a doctors note is required.

    STUDENT EVALUATION

    How often are report cards sent home?Mid-Quarter and Quarter.

    What symbols are used for communicating progress on the report cards?

    N/A

    Is there any method for including comments on grades?

    Number that corresponds to a comment, and space for written comments.

    What criteria does your cooperating teacher use to decide on grades or other

    evaluation?

    What areas are taken into consideration? (skill tests, written tests, improvement, etc.)

    15 points per unit: 10 points for participation and effort, 5 points for cooperation andrespect. 10% of their total grade is deducted with a no dress.

    Does the school conduct fitness testing? How often? What tests are administered?

    No they dont because of lack of motivation from students.

    DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES

    Are there school rules for behavior? Are they posted or written?

    They are in the student handbook, and then every classroom had their own rules. One, is

    a warning and two is a detention.

    Are there special rules for behavior in your physical education classes?

    Biggest thing is showing respect to teachers, peers, and equipment.

    What are the procedures for dealing with behavioral problems in physical education

    classes?
