ProE Part Versions - Step #1: Create your part and save it to a specified folder…

1.A: File > Save

1.B: Note the part is saved in the specified folder as a version file with an extension [*.prt.1]

ProE Part Versions - Step #2: Make changes and save your part to the same folder…

2.A: Make changes → File > Save

2.B: Note the part is saved in the specified folder as a version file with an extension [*.prt.2]

ProE Part Versions - Step #3: Compare version files to see the difference in parts…

3.A: In part mode for you current modified part, click Analysis > Compare > By Feature – A dialog box will open and prompt you to select the version file you want to compare. Select the 1st version of the part.

(Make sure all versions is selected – see slide #4)

Click “highlight object” to show the changed feature on the part

ProE Part Versions - Step #4: Overwrite the latest version with a past one…

4.A: Make sure the latest version is not in memory and open the version you would like to retrieve.

Make sure “all versions” is selected so you can retrieve old versions.

4.B: Save the old version(A new version is made

with these features)

Version *.prt.2 of the part is now overwritten. You can retrieve this at any time by doing the same process and opening *.prt.2
