GE Healthcare announced the launch of its next-generation eHealth Solutions platform •— an infrastructure offering that includes expanded services for health information exchange, a clinical portal and a patient health management system. At the core of the new eHealth Solutions platform is the eHealth Information Exchange (HIE) — a standards-based HIE infrastructure that integrates clinical data from across disparate systems and manages the wide variety of clinical records, document types and terminologies pervasive in today’s healthcare system. GE Healthcare’s portable ECG (electrocardiograph) device, the MAC 800, was implemented •in both Vancouver and Whistler to help support physician care of athletes, trainers and visitors throughout the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. GE Healthcare’s MAC 800 has the features of a full size, ECG device, engineered down to under seven pounds, with a clear color display and an integrated carrying handle to enable medical teams to get immediate information regarding the overall health and functioning of a patient’s heart. GE Healthcare announced an important new onboard feature to its LOGIQ E9 platform •— needle tracking powered by GE’s innovative Volume Navigation capability. With the extraordinary image quality of the LOGIQ E9, this new Volume Navigation needle tracking capability with its sensor tipped needle helps overcome many of the traditional challenges of existing ultrasound needle guidance such as needle visualization and deflection, determining entry points and the avoidance of critical anatomy. This, in turn, can help increase the accuracy of procedures such as biopsies, ablations, drainage, fluid aspiration and general injections. Read the press release.

GE Marine, a unit of GE Transportation, announced that Parker Towing Company, Inc. •has reached an agreement with NREC Power Systems to purchase twin GE inline eight cylinder L250 (8L250) diesel engines as their propulsion source for a new towboat. This application will be the first commercial operation of the 8L250 engine platform on U.S. inland waterways. Slated for delivery in July 2010, the engines are industry leaders in fuel efficiency and are compliant with EPA Tier II emissions standards. These features, combined with maintenance simplicity and on-engine accessories, make the 8L250 a preferred option for the industry. Read the press release.

GE Oil & Gas technology has again been selected to support the development of •Gorgon, one of the world’s largest untapped natural gas fields, which also features one of the world’s largest ever carbon-dioxide (CO2) sequestration technology projects. Building on GE’s announcement in October that it was awarded a $400 million contract to supply Gorgon’s LNG refrigeration and CO2 reinjection components, under the March announcement GE will supply five (5) 130 MW Frame-9 Gas Turbines in a modularized solution to meet the power generation needs of Barrow Island’s gas treatment and liquefaction facilities. GE’s WindBOOST* technology has been selected by NextEra Energy Resources, the •nation’s leader in wind energy generation, to enhance the output from its fleet of approximately 800 GE 1.5sle wind turbines. “WindBOOST is part of a series of continuing GE technology advancements designed to help move the wind industry forward,” said Vic Abate, vice president – renewable energy, GE Power & Water. “NextEra’s investment in the WindBOOST technology is an excellent example of how GE’s development of wind turbine upgrades can allow owners to improve performance and maximize revenue over the life of the turbine.” WindBOOST is currently designed for both new and existing 60-hertz GE 1.5sle wind turbines, with plans to apply the technology to additional 1.5-MW models. GE is the largest U.S. supplier of wind turbines and the 1.5-MW machine is the workhorse of the company’s fleet, with more than 13,500 units now installed worldwide. Read the press release.

As announced on our fourth quarter and total year 2009 earnings webcast, GE Capital •has fully funded its long-term debt funding plan for 2010 ($38 billion). We have already prefunded ~$8 billion of 2011 long-term debt.

GE Capital and Navistar International Corporation (NYSE: NAV), a leading global •manufacturer of trucks, buses and diesel engines, and Navistar Financial Corporation (NFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Navistar, jointly announced an expanded financing relationship under which GE Capital will become Navistar’s preferred provider of retail financing solutions to support sales of Navistar trucks and school buses in the U.S. The agreement takes effect immediately under the Navistar Capital name, with full implementation in 90 days. GE Capital, Restructuring Finance announced it is sole collateral agent for a $109 million •cash flow plan of reorganization credit facility for Muzak, a leading provider of music and sensory branding services for businesses. The loan supports Muzak’s exit from bankruptcy and ongoing working capital needs. GE Capital Markets served as sole lead arranger on a portion of the facility. “As a longstanding GE borrower, we appreciate having a lender who works with us in both good and challenging times,” said Dodd Haynes, CFO for Muzak. “GE’s commitment will allow us to move forward and focus our energy on our long-term business objectives.” Read the press release.

GE Capital, Corporate Finance announced it served as sole lender for an $85 million •asset-backed term loan to U-Haul (NYSE: UHAL), North America’s largest do-it-yourself moving and storage operator. The loan will be used to refinance an existing securitization facility. “In today’s environment, finding the right lender who understands your business has never been more important,” said Tom Quindlen, president and CEO of GE Capital, Corporate Finance. “We strive to work with borrowers to find the right financing solution so clients benefit from smarter liquidity.” Read the press release.

GE Capital, Corporate Finance announced it served as sole lender for a $70 million cash •flow loan to Dearborn, Mich.-based EP Management Corporation, a diversified holding company of industrial and automotive product manufacturers. The loan will be used to refinance debt and recapitalize the company. “As a GE borrower for many years, we appreciate GE’s ongoing commitment to provide capital to meet our evolving business needs,” said Patrick Aubry, chief financial officer for EP Management. “With GE as our sole lender, this loan helped simplify our bank group and balance sheet.” Read the press release.

190 million Americans watched the Vancouver Olympics on the networks of NBC Universal, •making them the second most-watched Winter Olympics ever, surpassing Salt Lake City (187 million) and ranking behind only the Lillehammer Games.

The USA vs. Canada gold medal hockey game on February 28 was the most-watched •hockey game in 30 years. Canada’s epic 3-2 overtime victory drew an average viewership of 27.6 million, the most-watched hockey broadcast of any kind since the USA vs. Finland 1980 gold medal game in Lake Placid (32.8 million).

Facing fierce competition March 1-5, USA maintained its position as the No. 1 network •in cable prime among adults 25-54, adults 18-49, total viewers and households. Driven by the success of USA Originals White Collar, Psych and Burn Notice, ratings powerhouse WWE Monday Night Raw, hit movies and episodes of the top acquired series on cable NCIS, USA held a big victory over The CW, delivering more than twice as many adults 25-54 and total viewers, and up double-digits among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

Jay Leno has returned as host of • The Tonight Show with a triumphant week (March 1-5) in which Jay outscored CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman by a 50% margin in adults 18-49 and a 52% advantage in total viewers (5.6 million vs. 3.7 million). Tonight won the time period on five of five nights in both categories. In the second week (March 8-12), the NBC late-night series led the time period by a 20% margin in adults 18-49 and a 15% margin in total viewers over CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman.

The GE Foundation — the philanthropic organization of GE — and the GE Corporate •Diversity Council announced the award of $1 million in total to four Milwaukee community healthcare centers toward the goal of increasing access to primary care for uninsured and underserved populations across the city. The donations expand the reach of the GE Developing Health program, a 3-year, $25 million commitment that provides grant funding and GE employee engagement to selected healthcare centers across the United States.
