Eligibility for Admission – Regular Stream Applicants for admission to the B.Sc in System and Network Administration

programme must have passed the examinations at Higher Secondary / Pre-University Course / Second year Foundation Course / Three years Technical Diploma level or an examination accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto. For the Award of the Degree

Candidates for the B.Sc in System and Network Administration degree shall be required to pass the examination held by the University after undergoing the prescribed programme of study through Distance Education.

A Diploma in System and Network Administration will be awarded to the students, those who discontinue the programme after successfully completing the First year of this programme.

An Advance Diploma in System and Network Administration will be awarded to the students, those who discontinue the programme after successfully completing the First year and second year of this programme. Lateral Entry – II Year

The candidates seeking admission to the second year of the above programme should have successfully completed the First year of study from any recognized University in the same discipline with at least 75% of syllabi common to this University or the candidates who have completed 3 year Diploma after completing Higher Secondary examination. Lateral Entry – III Year

The candidates seeking admission to the third year of the above programme should have successfully completed the First and Second years of the study from any recognized university in the same discipline with at least 75% of syllabi common to this University. Attendance

Candidate will be permitted to appear for the examination only if he / she has attended 80 percent of the theory and practical classes during that year.

Those who fail to attend the classes during the year will not be permitted to sit for the examination of that year.

At the end of each year of study, candidate should take their examination in all the papers studied during that year.

Passing Requirements

A candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination if he/she secures a minimum of 40 percent of marks in the examination in each course.

All the other candidates shall be deemed to have failed in the written examination of that year.

However, he/she has to appear again for the course in which he/she has failed in order to get a pass at the subsequent examination.

If a candidate passes all the prescribed examinations he/she shall be qualified for the award of the B.Sc in System and Network Administration degree.

Classification of Successful Candidates Aggregate Classification

a. 75% and Above First class with Distinction

b. 60% and above but below 75% First class

c. 50% and above but below 60% Second class

d. 40% and above but below 50% Third class

Only those candidates who passed all the examinations prescribed for the programme in the first instance and within a period of three years are eligible for ranking. Failed Candidates

A candidate, who failed in any course, in first/second year, will be permitted to proceed to the next year.
